Putin Gives a "Hard" Stare

Putin is a fucking legend. A real leader.

 

Putin is what Russia needed in its dire times in year ~2000. A strong, ambitious and inspiring leader who could solve problems which stockpiled after the dissolution of Soviet Union.

Without Putin, Chechnya would be a rogue state terrorizing neighbouring countries and Russia itself, as Putin made a personal deal with Ramzan Kadyrov to unite Russia and Chechnya, which, at the moment, prospers and experiences insane stability.

Without Putin, oligarchs would rob the country even further, corruption would just bankrupt the country in 10 years and all the oil profits would go to the pockets of the oligarchs, not the government. If you know history of what he did during his first term, you can see that he greatly reduced oligarch authority in Russia, mainly by making them super-loyal and enforcing demands on sharing with the government as it is pretty much impossible to eliminate these people without serious consequences on economy.

Without Putin during his first two terms, Russia would be a 3rd world country a la Belarus or Kazakhstan unless, of course, someone even more ruthless would come instead.

In my opinion, he's both a savior of Russia and a ruthless authoritarian dictator. Think Stalin: if he wouldn't be so fierce and borderline insanely cruel with the people in his country, the WW2 could be potentially lost.


It is honestly scare to imagine what will happen when Putin dies as there's no strong successor after him. Medvedev was just a puppet of Putin during 2008 - 2012 and he's perceived as fool among Russian people. Russia could crumble if the wrong(incompetent) person comes into power.

But I hope a good, inspiring and equally respected as Putin liberal president with democratic vision comes to power and reforms Russian policies, like Peter the Great who westernized Russia and made it the superpower in just one generation.
