Recent issues with Clockwork

Hi!
I'm just gonna take a brief moment to say that we do know about the recent issues with Clockwork and CAX. The CAX issue should be resolved now and I've been assured by @kurozael that we have not pushed out 0.93 OTA (over the air). It is NOT a mandatory update -- if you have it installed, you've installed it manually unless something went wrong with CAX.

We initially had an issue with a new logo being pushed out via CAX, but I've been told it should be resolved now.


Any other issues that arise, please, post about them so we can look into it or report it on Github. We're actively looking for bugs and other stuff to fix -- but we need your help. I'll be nudging the devs to take a look at any issues that arise in the next few days and I'll make sure we fix issues before we work on any new features (at least in the next few days).

If you have any bugs or concerns, let us know in this thread. We'll try to contain it in one place. Special thanks to @Rakaesa for a lot of well-filled reports in various sections around here. We'll be taking a look at them.

So just to clarify, 0.93 is good to go, just it was a cax issue is all?

 

0.93 seems to be working fine on our dev servers last I heard (which also has CAX loaded, just in case you guys think we can avoid having CAX active). There seem to be some intermittent issues for others, though.

I'll come hop on my PC in a few minutes and give it a test, hopefully everything's solved now.

It's really disheartening to do all this work for an update, then have kuro do an OTA update that breaks the build just to put a new logo in and run the intro more.

OT: Try putting this in your materials folder in your server (if you have FastDL setup) and in your steamapps/common/garrysmod/garrysmod/materials folder on your local client.

Yeah I'm honestly laughing my ass off about the fact that a logo & fonts broke the build, I'm barely even mad because it's the best way i've ever seen something break lmao

UPDATE: Putting it into a 0.92 server and on my own client-side garrysmod did not fix the mentioned problem above, frozen at loading & the same error is still spamming.

 

So, 0.93 should be functioning now? I'll give it a go.

Hello. This bug happened to effect my colleague and i while playing on SCG. The server then auto updated itself and from that instance on, we were unable to access any clockwork affiliated server. Later in the day my friend found that just typing init console would bypass the bug, " please wait while source creates the local player " problem but then straight after you'd run into another problem. Chat was completely transparent including the user interface in the game. An example of that would be when i went to go pick up my rations, i couldn't see that tab that usually drops down to give you the three options to do with it. Or when someone is typing or performing, you cannot see the white letters above their heads at all. Anyhow, I'll go ahead and include what my console was being spammed with whilst roaming SCG without a clue because the chat box wasn't there. I also saw that you've centered one of the main issues with the update that concerns "getmaterial ", but other things were also popping up during the spam in console. Hope this helps!

I'm on the same boat as Hadouken, it's broken to hell and it's gotta keep waiting for the local player.

 

With Clockwork 0.93, the usual white-to-black background gradient is now a brown/blue something for me, the owner, however my players are reporting purple-and-black checkers for backgrounds, and the same for inventory, scoreboard, directory, etc.

That isn't a part of Spencer's UI. It was something that was implemented in 9.2

What your friends need to do is make sure their Clockwork HL2RP content is up to date. Tell them to unsubscribe and resubscribe, or delete the .gma and redownload. Worked for me.
