even with your new addition of these rebel and citizen topics, you didn't really dwelve in to them all too much. it just seems like you put those in to surpress arguments.

i dunno, man, this server feels like none of it's going to be filled up because there's too much to fill up in the MPF system you have there and also the cp's just seem to kind of automatically give off the whole, "urgh, cp's MADE to be assholes."

hahahah no way holy shit i missed that

applying for rebel? like, why lol

this community made the joke for me: the server is a red flag already.

  6. You don't apply to be a rebel, if you want an organized group and some equipment to start off, make an application to start your faction and we will give the request items if they are reasonable. We are doing this to try and prevent lolwebuls from gaining momentum and stop senseless arguments, PKs and other side effects of lolwebul takeovers.

I'm assuming you ignored my statement of 'zero tolerance policy' and the provided link? I literally installed a policy, and a set of ideals, that will prevent units from acting like assholes right off the bat. The higher their rank gets, the more they must suppress their human emotions, but they still have them and are expected to show that when appropriate.

  7. I don't think that 'rebels' should ever be given things to start off, even if they are reasonable. I only support the idea of groups similar to a 'resistance' if someone legitimately works their way to that point with intense planning, not just a few paragraphs on an application.

I also don't think that just because a unit is high ranked means they suppress their human emotions. That whole idea mostly ends up with a bunch of high ranking units being dicks to everybody and acting like sociopaths, then using the excuse "i'm high ranked, dude. it's in the rules." If you are going to continue with the high ranking units - please have higher ranking units that aren't edgy and terrible. Just put them through a process that isn't just "well they're my friend haha! xD".

  8. No one in the server will force units at higher ranks to act like assholes. I am the MPF lead on the server and if there's one thing I care about it's character development above all; as opposed to action and intense RP, what really matters is immersion and developing a character personality. The HC has to suppress their human emotions as in they shouldn't appear nearly as human as the ground units so they are stronger and more self-disciplined, just like in an actual military - higher ups will normally suppress their emotions. It will not be in the rules, it would just be a recommendation. And I certainly will not be only making HC friends, right now that will be the case, we have one active HC unit that is the owner because of the small playerbase and a handful of ground units. We're just getting started. Your suggestions will be heard, we want the server run by the playerbase's requests and demands, we don't want to keep boring content that won't interest people.

@Aforgomon will explain the rebel system more, it was more his idea than my own.

  9. Thank you for clearing that up.

  10. No problem, I am doing all I can in my power to try and answer questions and satisfy demands.

Dunno man, BMD seems a bit overpowered, if the character we are talking about finds a way of being able to exploit money, it's game over man, they're gonna buy all sorts-a weapons and crossbows. (OP as FUCK).

and 20 LP for 2 characters? fuck man, time to donate all my money and be citizen of the year, everyone will respect me! But what they wouldn't know is I am BMDVORTIGAUNT! IT'S GONNA BE PERFECT!

Fuck man, I just see the system of donations for something that would probably not exist in a few months makes me not wanna join.

EDIT: Holy fuck did @Roth finally agree with me?

  12. I honestly had the worst first impression of the server, but the owner's calm and collected respones have put that off. I just might check it out.

  13. There are a few factors you have to consider:

[1] BMD isn't necessarily 'overpowered', sure you become the city's source of illegal weapons, equipment and others forms of contraband, but in this server prices are pretty damn high because it's realistic that way. We aren't a server where the blackmarket sells USPs for 250 or some pretty cheap price like that. The blackmarket is hard business, risky, and BMDs are more like 'every-so-often' characters than they are 'lemme hop on 25/8' ones.

[2] In what ways would a BMD be able to 'exploit' money? All they do is sell and buy weapons to keep the flow of cash going for the blackmarket between cities, different dealers within different cities also sometimes work for different bosses. Their profits will mainly go to the business of the market itself, much less the person who sold or bought the items. You have to understand that this is no '100 token weapons for sale lulz am give to muh freendz', this serious business.

I'm terribly sorry that you don't want to join, I am sorry that our server does not appeal to you. However, I would ask that you take some time to consider just how freshly-made this server is and the fact that things will be changing. Consider the server in the beta/alpha phase, we're obviously to make changes where players and us see fit, so don't worry at all about these things; I will talk to the owner about the major things turning players away.

    [3]
I don't really understand how this is at all a bad thing. Paying $30 for those benefits? Seems like a pretty nice deal; but you have to consider that $30 is the highest donor level and its a pretty good sum of cash. Obviously these benefits are not permanent either, if we find that minges are donating cash because they want access to these privileges for abusive purposes and they start farming with them, they're gonna be thrown under the bus faster than you can say 'money does not make you mingeproof'.

Any benefits that give off the feeling that donators get special treatment over regular issues is a no-no in my book. At best, give them a forum usergroup and an icon in-game.

Personal experience, there is ALWAYS a way of exploiting money, and im not saying the legal way, im talking about the illegal way. I, personally, have used some exploits to get tokens fast, but it's server's business, considering that SOMEWHERE there MAY be a salesman that buys stuff, and then you can get THAT STUFF from other ways, then I just farm that everyday and voilà, I now have 1k tokens to spend on guns and cause mass RDM... Then get banned.

20LP should be earned the HARSH way, work your way to them. See it like this:
You're starting off in GTA Online, you're broke as fuck, you've finished the tutorial and you want to have an apartment. But, oh wait! That apartment is 500k! What would cross your mind is "Fuck man... is there a way of getting that much money?" And you would find the easy way, paying cash to Rockstar for Credit Cards, it's shit expensive for something of no value in real life, so you start to work your way doing missions (Tasks by the MPF), Heists (Workcycles) and then get your reward of the apartment! (Apartment being the 20LP). You buy the apartment and be satisfied. Update kicks in, mansions. (Citizen of the year status.). Costs? Five Million. You decide it's time to use the bullshark cards (Donating), you get it and become the richest fuck in the world (Citizen of the year.) But after that, you get bored, you have shit ton of power, a mansion, a luxury car. So you decide it's time to close the game and don't play it for a while.

See? People get bored, and maybe leave, and their money is wasted for something that has no porpouse in real life, other than giving the owners money to wipe their ass with.

(^ Yes, I have discovered the meaning of life by writing that ^)

  16. The issue is not that donors are necessarily being treated as holier-than-thou, it's just that they get features for donating, it gives them an incentive to do so. Yet these can easily be taken if they break any rules, they are not given privileges that protect them from being banned simply because they gave money. They aren't therefore getting "special treatment", more just personal features because they were willing to pay actual cash to the server so it may live on.

Side-note: Yeah, the owner is being a bit odd right now, I'll talk to them.

I'm not going to let the BMDs have any exploits to quickly farm cash, and if they find a way to do it and instead of reporting it, they abuse it, they will get a DWL and PK. We will not tolerate exploitation.

I can see the cause of your concern, however 20LP is not enough to get someone such an abundance of luxury items. In fact, we have a loyalist point system already set up on the forums: http://redflaggaming.fragcube.com/community/index.php?threads/loyalist-ranks-and-benefits.26/

20 loyalist points is pretty much just above the first loyalist status which is bronze loyalist and has minimal benefits tied to it [literally two things], the player would have to work for ten more loyalist points [each job gets you 2-3, exception of workcycles which are not everyday happenings] before getting to the next level. The point is: they still have to work hard to get those benefits that everyone wants, they just get a boost in doing so.

  17. The idea of benefits for donations that truly give players something that sets them apart from other players or otherwise makes them 'better' is a bad thing on it's own. No justification can fix that. Donating for 'BMD' is just a bad idea. Donating to progress faster in the loyalist system is just low, similar to donating for in-game currency.

  18. The owner made the decision to put BMD on the benefits for top-level donors, not me. However, we have to have some benefits that will give players an incentive to donate. We tried in the past to make donations just donations [as in you're helping the server out and you get a forums tag, but no benefits because it's a donation not paying for benefits], but that didn't seem to encourage people to donate. However, if you guys personally feel that is more beneficial and has more potential, I will talk to the owner about it.

  19. I don't get it.
He has a C16 account, why doesn't he just speak to us directly on the thread instead of you having to relay everything to him

  20. Donations should not be the only goal of the server. If money is an issue, you probably shouldn't be hosting servers in the first place. Hosting is 10 dollars month and webhosting is usually free. I doubt you need a constant flow of donations - if any - to keep the server running with hosting like that.
