  1. @Aforgomon, the people wish to speak with you.

Hallo, alle. I apologize for my earlier lack of patience. I tend to be more easily irritated when tired. Please, feel free to ask me any questions. :)

@Kennyy You make a fair point with the rebel groups. I thank you for your input, and I agree with you. I will not be providing starter packs to rebel groups any longer.

  3. Well for starters you can answer to these issues:

[1] Rebel factions - shouldn't need to apply.
[2] Donor changes - address what is different.

    Alrighty, then.

Regarding rebel factions, I have made applications necessary for a specific reason: minging. Being a ShockCore member, I've seen rebel groups created that were not serious at all, or did not otherwise contribute to roleplay on the server. Taking this into consideration, I decided that rebel groups would require applications. It's also worth noting that it's not very hard to get your application accepted: you just need at least one other starting member and a good IC backstory. If it's deemed that it can contribute to RP, it will be accepted.

On the topic of donor changes, I have changed them from "buy stuff on the server" to something more appropriate. Those who donate to us will receive a special forums group. All donations are one-time payments, and they are paid through PayPal. If there are any other issues that anyone may have with the current donations, please notify me so I can address these.

Rebel "factions" is a very broad term. If you have to apply for a faction, I'd assume this is for a large group of rebels. But what then for a small, 2-3 member group of roleplay-experienced anti-citizens? Do they have to apply or can they just band together into a small team? Since these are smaller teams, I'd expect there to be more of them, and applying for each little team of anti-citizens seems a bit redundant.

  6. This is more of where I stand on the argument. I think rebel groups should be completely RP'ed, really. But some may disagree with me, like Afor does.

  7. You can always get rid of problematic users whenever they do something wrong that is logged, as with every other member of any faction. Perhaps the creation of a group should not require an application, but sort of a notice so at least the server staff is aware of how many factions are going around.

  8. That also makes sense.

As I see it, 3-4 person groups that don't plan to stick around and contribute to RP in the long run do not count as a faction. This being said, they don't have to apply. When I say faction, I mean a group of people that want to have a detailed backstory behind their group and to have influence ICly outside of rumors of gunshots in the slums or sewers.

This is a good idea as well, and I think that the above definition I gave of how I describe a faction should be applied to this and implemented. Thank you for your input.

  10. EDIT to OP: CWU section added.

  11. I had a question about mpf, and that is how will you deal with really bad MPF units / edgy players? There's no doubt that it harms a server greatly, just the other night @Kennyy and I were having a whale of a time talking about edgy characters / players and how it contributes to a pile of problems HL2RP servers have. Ontop of that, would you two consider yourselves good rpers?

  12. Well, I believe I may answer this question considering I am taking on the role of MPF Lead. Any and all MPF units that are acting out of line by being needlessly edgy or hard-assed will be given blackmarks, warnings - or whatever punishment is deemed necessary. If they continue to be unnecessarily edgy or seem to be deterring the RP quality, I will personally de-whitelist them.

Yes, I would consider myself a good RP'er.

On the topic of edgy characters and powergaming MPF units, we do enforce rules on this to a certain degree. If 4 out of 5 citizens on the server have lost a child/parent/sibling/general loved one prior to the resonance cascade or seven hour war, we will send out an OOC message telling players that they need to charswap if possible to a character that doesn't rely on trauma for passive rp.

When it comes to powergaming units and units that behave tougher than they should, we act a bit differently. Tough 05s and such are told that their actions are unrealistic to their rank. However, if a low ranking unit is simply angry at a citizen for malcompliance, this is allowed due to the fact that they're allowed to be angry. Does this answer your question?

EDIT: I forgot about the RP part. I wouldn't consider myself an exceptionally well RPer. This may be out of modesty or out of simple consideration of objective facts, but I would say that I am an average roleplayer in quality. This doesn't mean, however, that I can't identify good vs. bad roleplay. I can tell the difference between a struggling newbie and a minge, at least.

  14. I guess I'll check the server out when it launches.

  15. It's already up, friend. 107.150.32.195:27045

  16. Well, that's a touchy subject since anyone could be an asshole even before joining the CPs. I guess the word 'edgy' is thrown around sometimes when whatever a unit does doesn't benefit a citizen. I mean, there's really no way to suppress 'edge' if that is taken into consideration, as there's surely someone out there who personally wouldn't be so shocked about their actions if they were a CP, or might even be glad for doing them.

Yes, it's hard to enforce character creation rules, as being "edgy" isn't well defined, being a slang word and all.

I still feel like this is on the edge of limiting player freedom, but I can't argue against the exemption of people that start a huge faction just to kill everyone on sight.

Natalia Dmitriyev has banned 'Roth' permanently (OOC in an IC character (Rule #16) | Banned by Aforgomon).
Disconnect: OOC in an IC character (Rule #16) | Banned by Aforgomon.

    lol?

This is still pretty barebones and all.... it feels more like a contest to decide which image is the edgiest.
