    Welcome to REDACTED Gaming HL2RP.

    What are we all about?
REDACTED Gaming started out as a DarkRP based community
Yes I know most of you are gagging at the mention of DarkRP but thats why we are here.
But a majority of our staff and quite a few of our players were looking for something a bit more serious, so upon convincing the owner, I started work on our HL2RP server.
You might remember our failed attempt at a 7 Hour-War RP server.
Well like I said, it failed as I predicted, but we wanted to try something different.
Upon this failure we shut down the server to rebuild it from the ground up, sticking with a standard schema this time instead of making a new one. Now we have what I like to this is a decently setup server with a custom canon that is slowly growing as I work on it, that has potential but needs to players to reach it.

    Server Canon

The year is 2021, and you are in the industrial sector of the once great City 17.
In 2019 resistance activity peaked in City 17, and the entire city was a powder keg just waiting for a spark and then in October of 2019, the Combine lit that spark with the assassination of a highly respected figure within the resistance whose identity was only known by the name she used, Bella. Outside of her inner most circle of resistance officers she was a figure who worked in the shadows, and was rarely ever seen. The city 17 Combine tried finding records of her, cross-referencing the little footage they had of her with combine databanks dating back to the seven year war. No proper connection was ever made and her true identity was a mystery. Even to her most inner circle of resistance officers.
To the resistance, she was a leader... and to the citizens who sought freedom...
    she was a liberator.
After she was killed the resistance and those citizens who supported them went up in arms and the city plunged into chaos. Union loyalists were executed on the streets and countless attempts at breaching the Nexus were made. The Combine thought little of these attempts and ensured the current city administrator that there was nothing to worry about because Combine forces were being taken from their divisions and placed into a newly established riot division. There was a saying among the rebels about this division, "Once you see their shadow you're as good as dead." so the riot division became respectively known as SHADOW. The SHADOW troops thought they were about to end this uprising as they stormed the resistance base in the sewers of City 17... but what they found marked the beginning of the end.
There were no rebels in the base. Only the stripped bodies of fallen combine units, armor and weaponry nowhere to be found. The SHADOW DvL ordered a lockdown of the Nexus but it was too late. Rebels disguised as Combine units stormed the Nexus and those inside had no idea what was happening until it was too late. The remaining Combine and Overwatch soldiers vacated the loyalists into the industrial sector and sealed the gates, leaving those stuck in the city to fend for themselves.
The city administrator stepped down, ashamed of what happened to the city under his watch and a new administer was decided upon. The new administrator promised that the deadly events that occurred within the city, which became known
among its survivors as the "Storm of Blood" would never happen again.
She created a new branch of government formed from regular citizens loyal to the union known as the City Counsel. It was their job to go out among the citizens and listen to their concerns to help the administrator to keep the city under control.
Due to the severe loss of forces in the attack on City 17, the Combine began enlisting "Conscripts" as a human branch of the Combine forces, to try and keep the peace.
It has been two years since the Storm of Blood, and the industrial sector is surviving as well as it can, there are reports of rebel activity in the 404-Zones of the city and Combine forces are doing what they can to keep the activity to a minimum and the citizens now live in the former housing of Civil Workers' Union members who worked in the sector.

    Server Info
Citizens are categorized on a loyalty ranking from "Standard" to Red and is depicted by armbands that the citizens are given by the CCA upon reaching each loyalist rank. Each rank provides more freedom to the citizens
and encourages them to be loyal to the union.
For example: upon reaching the Yellow loyalty rank, citizen will receive enhanced rations as opposed to standard rations, and will have access to loyalist housing as well as the ability to apply to the
City Counsel at the next election. Purple loyalist citizens will also have access to take part in the loyalist reward events
(These will vary based on the map currently being run, which shouldnt change much. Being on industrial17, the event is an approved trip to the beach :))

Crafting is also going to be implemented shortly and users can construct various items if they have the required components and can sell them if they dont want to use the item themselves, however these items will be considered contraband as they are not UU branded, so you will have to be careful
when making a deal as Conscripts may go undercover to try and catch you.

Elections will happen generally once a month, all candidates for City Counsel will have a chance to address the public and all citizens who are not in the election can vote. The counsel will be made of at max 4 members so once a new member is elected, they will vote one out if need be. During an election for City Administer all counsel members who are eligible will address the citizens and they will vote.
The counsel member who wins popular vote willthen go before the remaining counsel members and they will vote either for or against. If they win, that member becomes the new CA, if not, the popular vote will be taken again and the previous popular vote winner will be ineligible.

Civil Workers' Union members are split into divisions, medical and merchant. Medical members work in the clinic and their job is self explanatory. Merchants will occupy the shops and sell UU branded goods to the public.

Teach us more about the server and less about the Metropolice Force structure.

This looks half-decent enough, seems like it's headed in a good direction. If you want my advice to make it better, try to add more activities for citizens that would fit well in HL2. Optional work cycles can fit the bill, but experiment with some other things.

So as opposed to citizens just bugging the combine for work have designated cycles for it? Sounds good. That is one thing that always annoyed me was having citizens bug me for work to get a higher loyalty status. Dont know why I never thought about that before.

Never liked conscripts, but the server lore seems interesting and not just like every other server.

SireElite what's the big fucking deal?

"GHOST" no offense but this division is by-far the worst for me and it makes no actual sense, but the community does seem good. gl with the cremator

Its mostly used in special RP. Not generally used, and I know. I'll most likely be removing the cremator since it refuses to cooperate.

I wouldn't use cremator anyways, it's just like slapping "beta" on your server without any actual meaning.

UPDATE: Removed cremators. May re-add at a later date.

Honestly, if it was my server, I wouldn't have more than three divisions. @Dex would probably agree with me here:
Union(or whatever you want to call it) - General division, no real specialty and they can do their own thing.
Helix - Obviously a dedicated medical squad.
Grid - This or something similar, a squad dedicated to repairing and maintaining Combine equipment.

Anything extra can be associated with one of the three. Riot control? Union. Stealth/sniping? Union. Surgeons? Helix. Adding more divisions just discourages unit-to-unit interaction and creates a barrier between each person within the UU. The MPF should be a complete unit, all working together. If you're not having that, you should probably fix that. Somehow integrate all of the characters.

And just to be brutally honest, fuck Jury/Judge. It's a terrible fucking division thingy. Why would there be characters dedicated to deciding one's fate? That's bullshit, it should be left to the NCO's or CO's. Not a petty Private who just entered the greatest alien race known to man.

I guess that's why Dispatch is good.

Other than that, good luck. You seem to know what to do, hope it lasts man.

Please don't add edginess to HL2's beautiful and sophisticated lore.

I'll change it to "Bob" is the lack of "edginess" good enough in that name? I think thats what it will be, "Bob The Rebel"
