Important [RELEASED] Phase Four Overhaul

    We are happy to announce the first beta release of the new Phase Four overhaul. Existing customers can download the new Clockwork 0.94 alpha and the new Phase Four gamemode from their Store downloads section; or Phase Four can be bought for $30 today.

    New features, armors, weapons and more will be added over time in future patches as development continues.

    Changelog:
    Please note that this is NOT a comprehensive changelog. There have been many bug fixes and new features added, config options, and a major theme overhaul.

    • Referral program. Each player gets a unique code, if they send it to their friends, when their friends first join they can enter it and then both you and your friend get some free Rations.
    • Added Daily Cash Login Bonus - get cash every time you login each day, as long as somebody else in on the server.
    • Generators can be upgraded up to a max level of 5.
    • You can also be attacked if you have more than $10,000 in your personal safebox. This is because the damage protection stuff is really just for protection for new players to get the hang of things. Once you have more than $10,000 stored away you aren't really a "new player" anymore.
    • Re-introducing the Safe Zone, mainly as an area completely safe for trading and socializing.
    • Show if a player is currently able to be attacked by looking at them (but not if the reason they can be attacked is because they are carrying a high enough item value.)
    • Printer Battery supply will be multiplied by 3, and as such printers will produce cash 1/3 as much but 3x as quickly. This means you'll still end up getting the same amount from them, but you'll get them in smaller increments faster, rather than having to wait 4 minutes for the whole lot.
    • Wages will come 3x quicker but 1/3 the amount (just increases the rate at which you receive your wages but over the same amount of time.)
    • Picking up (with hands) any entity that doesn't belong to you will be seen as an act of aggression and will activate the attack timer.
    • Removed the black intro bars when you join the server (annoying for Phase Four.)
    • Instead of having 30 seconds to escape player who is stunsticking you, you have 30 seconds to escape the AREA that you got stunsticked at.
    • Removed Zip Ties because they don't really serve any good purpose in the new Phase Four.
    • Add the Stunstick. You'd need to hit a player 3 times to initiate the stun process. Once the victim is in this mode, if they do not get away from whoever stunned them within 30 seconds, the victim will be knocked unconscious. The victim cannot be searched or tied in this state, and will have a message on their screen informing them that they should try to get away from the person who stunned them. YOU CANNOT STUN A PLAYER THAT CAN BE ATTACKED. YOU CAN ONLY STUN PLAYERS THAT CURRENTLY CANNOT BE ATTACKED!
    • The Stunstick can only initiate the stun process on a player once every 60 seconds to prevent abuse.
    • Instead of belongings, items will "explode" out of bodies when they are killed to make it more fun / satisfying.
    • /alliance will be a command for communicating with your alliance. Radios will still be there if people want them, but using /alliance will allow you to talk to your alliance for free at any time.
    • /advert command will let you send a global advertisement message for a fee, global OOC will be either disabled or heavily rate limited (one message every 5 minutes or something, and advertising over OOC will be against the rules.)
    • Mines don't get triggered by members of your alliance.
    • The in-game salary will be increased by 1.5x the amount.
    • Each of the two types of generator will produce 1.5x the amount by default.
    • All weapon and armor prices will remain the same, but some basic items will increase slightly in price.
    • Alliances will cost half as much to create, meaning that new players can create their own alliance very quickly.
    • The Safebox will have a maximum weight increase of 2x, meaning you can keep more items safe.
    • Players with a playtime of less than 4 hours will get a bonus increase of printer production. This might encourage bigger alliance to take newer players into their alliance purely for advantage this bonus provides to the team.
    • /alliance will be a command for communicating with your alliance. Radios will still be there if people want them, but using /alliance will allow you to talk to your alliance for free at any time.
    You can not be attacked unless you meet ANY of the following conditions:
    • You are currently holding any weapon excluding the physics gun, keys, toolgun, or hands.
    • A mine you own is triggered by another player.
    • You swing a melee weapon or use any firearm at all.
    • You are carrying over $X of items on your person.

    Is there any way to access the new P4 sv_hooks.lua ? I bought it and i don't have acces to it !

    Well actually you buy a license to use the schema, you don't buy the code; however, what in particular are you looking to edit, I can private message you access to specific functionality :)

    Why is it restricted now? Last update it was completely open, and it was a good thing it was, lots of broken code was fixed due to that being open. Not to mention it allowed the removal of engineering, one of the worst additions IMO.

    It's to protect the schema from being easily run by cracked frameworks afaik, just put most things on config settings so people can easily turn them off/on as they want. @kurozael

    Actually sv_hooks and sv_schema were both encrypted in Phase Four for a very long time, now it's only sv_hooks.

  12. I'm confused because I have an older copy of phase four and it had 1106 lines of code in sv_hooks.lua, sv_schema was encrypted however.
     
  13. I have the full unencrypted sv_hooks and sv_schema for the 2013 version of Phase Four too.... I don't know why its encrypted now, I really need to fix printers and other stuff and I think kuro shoved all of those functions into those files.... I guess no one will buy this gamemode anymore :(

    Are printers and "other stuff" (what specifically) broken in the latest Store version of P4?
     
  15. Printers print 1/3 of what is listed, even with full upgrades and all augments.
    Critical condition can result in a major bug where the player is stuck until reconnecting.
    The wealth system does not function properly. (Players frequently can't attack players under the wealth limit, but the players under the wealth limit can attack players above it, with no repercussion.)
    Using the listed Clockwork version on the store results in getting stuck on a grey screen upon joining. (Had to switch to the Github version)
    Just a few off the top of my head.

    Not sure if these are related to Phase Four or Clockwork, but crafting blueprints with requirements for more than one of the same item results in a broken blueprint and salesmen disappear quite frequently.
