Important Report Cracked Servers

    Hi guys. It's time to crack down. If you encounter any servers that upon joining you don't see the new Clockwork intro / schema intro, then it's probably a cracked server. Please report the server IP and server name (along with any website) to me at [email protected] with the subject "Cracked Clockwork Server", or just send me a PM here on the forums.

    It's pretty easy to get them suspended, so feel free to help us eliminate the servers owned by people who believe they should get a schema for free, when you have paid your good money for it.

    There are some exceptions, where the server owner is a legitimate customer, but Cloud Sixteen has a deal with and has given explicit permission to them. (Cloud Sixteen no longer offers this, but we don't want to go back on our previous deals.)

    You know what I mean. Cloud Sixteen schemas are not free, so why do some people believe they should get them for free when other people pay good money to own a license. The point is, it's piracy, and the servers will be suspended. Anyway, I'm not discussing that, this is just an announcement thread so people know where to report servers.

    It's not illegal or against the ToS to use an old version as long as you have the correct serial for CAX to see.

    Actually it's against the Terms of Service:

    Specifically 3), 7) and 11). So yeah, we'll be going by whether or not a server has the new intro screen.

    For 3, you're not circumventing because it's all still there. You're still using a correct serial, just not allowing it to update to the latest version.
    For 7, removing credits to you is stupid because everyone already knows where the gamemode comes from and could hammer you for saying "not by conna wiles" anyways.
    For 11, "You are okay for Clockwork to autoupdate itself and any child components." That's just reassuring that it's safe to allow CAX to update itself. Not really saying "oh you have to let it do this or you're a bad person."

    Stop digging your grave, dude. You lost. If CAX can't auto update or the DRM isn't working properly (3) you have done something to circumvent it.

    Yeah @alexanderk is right, if CAX isn't applying the new intro to Clockwork when the server is running, then something has been done to circumvent it.

    I listened to my customers when they asked to have the in-game advertisements removed in the top-right and to not have Clockwork News spam the chatbox, and I've added functionality to customize the background and schema logo for the schema part of the intro. All I'm asking is that you keep the new intro up.
