HL2RP Rise of the Red Sun : Hiroshima HL2RP

The server takes place at the very end of Half Life 2 but before Episode One. This shows what happened in the world during Breen's death and the first citadel explosion.

Gathering from all the reports of Red Sun Resistance sightings, B.U.G Recordings, confidential files and other sources the Red Sun Resistance is a gang more than a resistance, focused on gaining profits and rising in the Criminal World as an organization based off the previously disbanded group, the Yakuza. They are gun runners, drug smugglers, and overall criminals. Expect all members to be armed, and ready to fight and die for their gang that had risen as a cruel underground super-power in the land of the Rising Sun. \ \ ] Threat Level: [5] Sociostatus: [RED]

After the takeover of humanity due to the Combine, a capital was established in the city once known as Hiroshima, Japan. Many human Combine officials would frequently spend time here as a break, due to the fact it was technologically superior to the rest of the world. However, after the criminal organization known as the Yakuza was re-established, many members were able to bribe their way into the Combine ranks, and would frequently allow their own members out of jail. After these members were caught, they were executed, starting a full-out street war between the Yakuza and the Combine. Now taking the name of the Red Sun Resistance, they fight at dark and appear to have a loyal cause (freeing humanity), but behind the scenes run a criminal organization. While citizens can stay and live a happy life, it is very common for crime to be witnessed.

One major flaw off the bat.. The lack of citizen role play. Seem's to only be focused on the combine and the resistance shooting at each other in some mosh of chaos not once have you mentioned citizens or neutrality in this thread. Interesting concept but I don't believe it will have good execution due to the "quality" of the thread and what I have read. You have all the right to prove me wrong, and I encourage you to do so.

 

Maybe I did make it unclear, however, it's more of a territory war, like the RDR taking over different areas and the combine fighting to take it back, or vice versa. Keep in mind this is event based, so between events, the RDR can plan whilst the civilians are safe. Also, a PassiveRPer? Who would've known those ever existed.

 

Not to rip off Ralph's post, but there is a pretty big lack of roleplay and content, outside of rebels and Combine. All I see from the pictures and info is "fight as combine" or "fight as rebels", nothing inbetween for the passive RPers, if people give a shit about them anymore, and neutrals/unrelated parties.

I did want to hide some information until release, but since it is causing clear confusion, let me try to help.
THERE WILL BE PASSIVE RP - AND IT WILL BE PASSIVE MOST OF THE TIME.
It's just not the main focus of the story. The city is supposed to be home to a lot of crime. However, all major crime is event-based. No territorial takeovers will exist without events. The way this can happen is every thirty minutes to an hour, if so follow the RP, a takeover event can occur, and if a certain side is equipped and ready, can seize the other position.

Passive RP is a thing. Citizens who report crime are rewarded heavily and can live in an very-nice condition. Any crime reports can be rewarded with money and rations. There is also human diplomats in the City, who act under Breen as city and district administrators. The city was much more advanced than any other city during the time, and this is why many diplomats decided to make that their home. And just to make that clear, Breen is not in this. He's just a figurehead for other city administrators. District administrators are sometimes there to assist the city administrator with paperwork or any legalities. Yes, the Red Sun Resistance/Yakuza can bribe District administrators to getting something they want, for example, re-opening a part of time they saw was unfit for human entry (for example, the industrial zone on many servers is closed off because it is a good hiding spot, etc) or releasing one of their friends from jail.

Now let's move onto the Yakuza/RDR while an event is not active. This is the time for minor arms trafficking deals to citizen, plans for takeovers, bribing, and plans for assassination. All heists, takeovers, and assassinations must occur during the event times. And no, the event is not pre-determined, it is up to the players. During a takeover, if a player dies, they will lose the chance to help their teammates and will have to stay at their base for the rest of the event. If all metrocop die in a takeover, Overwatch are called in. If they are wiped out, they can send in synths, choppers, or plan a strategic retreat. There will be negatives to losing territory. Any member of an opposing force who walks in an enemy's territory can be instantly killed.

If a player dies during a heist or an assassination, that player is PK. The only reason why you would not be PK is if you were just a minor metrocop and died. Any diplomats or Yakuza who died during an assassination stay dead.

I remember playing on it before just can't remember the name

 

My dev made the map. I saw it and it was really good, so I got an edit of it which adds a skybox, indoors, combine areas, a whole citadel etc. The original map was something like acrsg.
