Been workin' on an edit of rp_industrial17 lately, still trying to learn Hammer in the process, but this is what I've got so far. c:

Moved the CyberCafe from the sewers up to the construction area, next to the little store. Also had to flip it so that it would fit.

Added a bunch of lights to the garage and removed the ramp.

Changed the entrance to the Metropol.

    Removed the shell beach.

Removed the elevator in the middle of the plaza.

Removed the lolwebul base and expanded the Metropol basement.

Also removed all the soda machines around the map.

Basically my goal with this edit is to remove/move all the secret lolfapcaves/places no one uses in the map, make more areas that everyone can RP in, as well as adjust the map for my community's needs.

Any suggestions for what I should do with the map would be much appreciated! :3

I didn't know you mapped!

Also very nice. I like the Metropol, but some of the other things look a bit out of place.

The ex-shell Beach area could use some polishing. Now it looks like a retard built a road up to a wall, unless you wish to re-enact crash test dummy kind of stuff, sorta looks out of place.

The rest looks good, though, and minor improvements are still improvements.

That said, last post of the night.

Like I said, still learning. I think I'll make it like how the other side of the street is, with a blocked off tunnel.

If you don't want to make a closed off tunnel for Shell Beach, at least make the sidewalk wrap around - that would look good, in my opinion; at least it does in my head.

How the hell did you... 'Un-bsp' the map?

  7. Re: NightAngel's Snuggle Cave of Development

The developer released a decompiled version of the map.

Looks good, NightAngel, here are a few suggestions. :p

    • Expand the sewers
    • Put a refugee camp sorta thing
    • Add another shop or two
    • Make the Grotto look better

Re: NightAngel's Snuggle Cave of Development

I'm planning to get rid of the sewers, too cliche for me. Plus the whole webuls in the sewer thing is way too overdone. Also planning to turn the construction area into a completed set of apartments, while still keeping the slummy feeling. I don't really know how I would make the grotto better, any suggestions towards that?

Hmm. Make the bathroom bigger (Remove the rebel base), maybe add some more booths and the backroom needs to have a use and not an utter waste of space.

I might just grate off the entrances and remove the rest, because it's a pretty big use of brushes anyways.

You should keep the sewers, just make it so there's no form of hidden base or anything. Just a sewer.

Is there any way to make it a little less laggy on CW? Like removing the constant animated useless shit? I believe theres a tv store in the plaza constantly flashing colors. Why would the combine leave it there in the first place.

I have to admit. It lets off a ton of noise and flashes colors yet I've not seen one person RP with it.

    Fiiiiiiiine

Industrial is a big bitch, it'll be naturally laggy. I'll see what I can do though, but no guarantees since I'm still a terrible mapper.

But they're really decorative, and help with the atmosphere I find.

Also, did I fail to mention that this thing doesn't even compile properly and there's a bunch of errors that don't even have anything to do with my edits? It's pretty frustrating, it says there's a leak, but then points towards a flat surface instead of a leak. Plus it says there's too many t-junctions or some crap. UGHHHH xO
