So, because I felt like it, I'm making a skyscraper-oriented map, set high in the sky.

I've only worked on it for about an hour, but I've got a general concept and a well-enough working skybox to fit. Here's some previews of my hour of work:

    That looks absolutely amazing.

But for what kind of RP is this meant to be?

Currently all I see is a several dark skyscrapers that are hard to see and one giant room, perhaps it would have been better to make this thread when you had more information about it?

Other than that I look forward to seeing what kind of RP this is for and how it will turn out, good luck.

Me and Techno were planning a server with a huge custom lore n everything, but we abandoned the project. He's not giving the the old .vmf that he was working on, so I'm making my own version from whatever info I got off techno.

Right above, added up some info that hopefully helps.
As for the emptyness... it's 1 hour of work, half of that is the custom textures (skybox, mainhall, etc)

What kind of lights are you using? I'm guessing normal light entitity? If so, try using more spot lights or func_illusionarys with the light texture, google it.

Edit - Nevermind, realised they are spot lights. However it looks rather dark, suggest increasing their cone sizes.

Yeah, I just noticed. Increased the light cone size. Also, I know mapping (mostly), dun need no googles.

I can give you my Game Dev RP Schematic.
You RP a guy making games.

Sounds bland, but it's fucking awesome imo

  8. ...That wasn't what this map was intended for.

    At all.

It was a futuristic post-HL2RP where the late events of HL2 with the citadel explosions forced everyone to go up, because of the hazardous chemicals and radiation down the bottom on the surface. Sort like Upper-Hengsha from Deus Ex.

what is the point of this post in this thread, I feel like this is either a mispost or you're trying to get a point out..

This sounds like a really really nice idea, 8/10.

  13. (In case you don't know, I'm Techno)
I don't have any plans on using it. If you want to use it, go ahead. Hell, even Badham might be up for it.

Ever since last time I'm not going to bother with upping a server, I'll help co-own, make the map, etc. but that's it.

Loving that skybox, can I get a screenshot of the map layout so far? Also, those lamps could use some point_spotlights.
