Introduction:
Welcome to Sinskitz Community, we provide a whole new opportunity.
We are happy to announce our server publicly on the clockwork forums, we are a partner community with Xgamers. We will be combining our server to basically create one big server.
We are a p2l server but with the exception of both parties that want to roll in the rp can, also when they do roll we have roll gains. We are looking forward to a great role play experience with all our staff and members.

Just listing my experience here, as of now (10 minutes in).

Pros: Yet to find any.

-Cons-

• Staff is incompetent. I met a Super Admin who didn't know how to reduce OOC interval or add/remove text.
• Choppy wheather mod. Decent idea but, rain splatter .wav is split a ton, and while I was on, it went from snow for 5 minutes to rain. The wheather happens way too often.
• Abuse of toolgun. While I was walking that SA through changing text, he spawned 11 headcrab canisters at my feet and launched them. He removed them but, I just don't see why he did it in the first place.
• No good prop placement. I saw two peices of super-thin wood standing straight up as a barricade. Nothing anymore detailed.
• Bad text placement. Most text placed is grammatically incorrect and clips through the world. Also way too big.
• For a server that just started up, you already have a DvC (Whatever that is) and a Mace 01? How fast is your ranking system?
• Using some weird admin mod. It looked a bit like AssMod. Didn't fit with HL2RP at all, and the white bar at the top was counter-immersive.
• Mic usage. A personal pet peve of mine when the Civil Protection officers use mics to communicate.

Ok first of all the server is 1 day old and of course there is gonna be turns here and there. The super admin is his first time being a super admin, you got to learn somewhere and the weathering system we were just testing it and will fix it later also the tool gun problem was resolved and the guy did it got demoted. Also I don't recall care about your opinions, the server is new and there will be shit the first day. I rather you not post you cons on this page.

I may be stoned. But your posting in C16. Specially with communities. Second. Freedom of speech. Actually. The internet. You can't control it. Like you did you asked not really gonna do anything most of the time. Third. There will be people who rate your servers especially if you POST about it in the communities section.

 

If i may have a say This guy who joined in for 10 minutes comes onto our server going like "Hey i'd like to the owner" And the way you said it makes me think you kind of demanded it. And that fact you call our Staff incompetent? Well there's a lot more staff here then just me buddy sure i may not know how to change OOC time thing but thats because no one ever told me how. and Besides the staff here are very good and we don't use Mic chat to talk to other combine its only for OOC chat. And yeah i have to admit the weather mod could use some work. You also seem to be a grammar nazi which are people i hate so i don't care about what ever you say in things being grammatically incorrect and the Headcrab caninters i did that cause you were making my angry i have to admit. also the admin mod you do know you can disable the white bar that appears up there right? go to settings disable ass-mod something like that Now if you have any other stuff to say please pm me about it Thank you and have a nice day.

 

It doesn't matter how much "custom content" a community has if their admins act like this.

Second, I asked to speak to the owner to suggest some changes. Nothing more, nothing less.

Also, in place of AssMod, I recommend you use a nice, Clockwork Compatible Admin Mod, like NoMoreUlx, which you can find http://forums.cloudsixteen.com/index.php?topic=1228.0 there.

You shouldn't really make a community post unless you want some input. I'm just saying, why is there a super admin on the first day that isn't the owner, that doesn't know any commands? I understand it's his first day but, why would he be a SA on his first day?

You said you also have a lot more staff. How many more? I saw you and another regular player on. That includes the forums. So either your staff isn't that active in-game and on the forums, or they are just in a different timezone. In whatever case, having multiple staff members, especially SA, may not be the brightest idea on opening day, as it makes it seem as if you just made newcomers SA. Even though that may not be the case.

EDIT: Just read that he donated for an in-game rank. Why would you give out ranks that will effect other players' experience for money? 01 is meant to be earned by good roleplay.

EDIT EDIT: Looking through your forum legend, it seems like you have 10+ staff members. Why so many staff for a server that only has one regular player? The ratio is a bit off, and HL2RP doesn't require much Administrating to maintain.

 

Ya know what I apologize for the way I acted and my staff has been delt with, people who abused got demoted. So yeah, I just don't want this turning into a arguing thread. Thank you for the advice but I assure u everything is under control.

 

Nty, I don't like people who make their Unit numbers silly just because they can.

I highly recommend making some better lore-based characters. Owners that have Wallace Breen, Alyx Vance, and automatically make themselves the SeC without letting another player experience it, are quite frowned upon.

Just another suggestion.

 

Sinskitz, I will remind you, that Public Opinion is everything, when you're owning a server.

Here's some do's and don't's.

DO: Fun events, and encourage members to partake in them.
DO: Hire competent staff, that are preferably multi-lingual, and grammatically excellent in English. (Most languages used are Spanish and German, for as far as I know)
DO: Custom Content, is handy, but is NEVER a substitute for roleplay.
DO: Add nice map scenery. People like well-decorated cities, even if it's just the shitty 12$ bench they use to sit on, contemplating suicide.
DO: Hold regular staff trainings, on what to do, and how to act, and how to respond. One single respond, can cost you a significant drop in players.

DON'T: Make people SA on their first time, instead, go to my last DO: Point.
DON'T: Let mingery and asspulling, or failrping, or any of the kind, unpunished. This could severely hurt your image as a server owner, many people will say that you are weak knee yank, that can't do shit right. I've seen it happen before.
DON'T: USE WEATHERMODS! Weathermods are nice ideas, but usually horribly optimised, causing lag for the lower-class PC users, a vast majority of the GMod community.
DON'T: Allow tools that YOU Think are dangerous, to admins or lower, or whatever you wish.
DON'T: Make silly ending numbers of CP's, just "Because you can". Make it as realistic as possible.


That's all my tips, from here on out, you should be able to get on going.

I honestly don't care if you listen to me, or not, but I know I have TRIED helping you, and the fact you've been replying to people in the manner you have, rises the thought that you are unfit for adminship, let alone ownership.

Also the fact you have complete forced canon characters... I highly doubt people want to join a server, and see 'Gordon Freeman', 'Barney', 'Dr. Isaac Kliener' (Assuming I got his first name right.. Or any of the other HL2 canon characters... Breen IS somewhat a decent idea, but only on the NEW 17. Not the crappy old one. And that also means REMOVING SeC, and just keeping Breen... Maybe appoint a council of administrators for lower city needs... But yea... And for the record... Grammar IS important in HL2RP... I rarely touch servers that don't even enforce grammar... Specially staff that can't even properly type...

Check your eyes or try the server out for yourself. The server was shit the first day but we changed a lot so give it a chance before you Make your final decision.

 

Was there any need to make a thread on C16 as of yet? Atleast allow the server to set up a little and expand before doing so.
Also I'm one of the "Management" managers or some shit like that and when I went on the server the first couple of days I noticed that half of the staff raged at new comers via LOOC and FailRP'd multiple times then called me a horrible Super Admin when they're Admins/Operators and Sinskitz response to me trying to get this sorted.
