Sigma 18 Serious HL2RP Server [Back in Black!]

    A New Beginning

    Introduction:

Sigma18 is a community that strives for a 110% roleplay experience. We cater to all types of players whether it is old school ones or some of the newer ones who are just starting their own roleplay story. this means that we put a lot of time and effort into what we do so that everyone is satisfied and no two people are treated differently. Previously we have had many servers and they have all sadly ran their course, however this time we intend to get rid of our slandered name and redeem ourselves in the HL2RP community. I am not saying we are going to be better than all of the communities out there because lets face it, there is a lot of them out there and they are all awesome. What we are looking for however is to be up there with them all. This is our new beginning so please, sit back, grab a cold one and I hope you will enjoy what we have to offer.

    Factions:
Our factions are fairly standard and the reason for this is down to us wanting to keep that familiar feeling of HL2RP for old players and to make it simple for new ones. We do however have a few of our own custom factions that we believe will let us get our foot back into the door again allowing us to progress into a much larger name in the HL2RP community.

Combine Civil Authority: The Combine Civil Authority or CCA for short are the shall we say enforcers of the Half Life world, meaning that it is their job to keep order in the streets by any means necessary . What we do with our enforcers is keep them under a watchful eye making sure no one is abusing their role as a CCA, we do this by frequently checking the logs to see if there is anything undesirable going on, we dont just rely on the logs though, we are also ready and waiting for any problem you may have with the actions of the person in question. The reason we are so strict on the CCA is because alot of people can ruin other's gameplay experiences due to the benefits they get as a CCA member. I would also like to add that our CCA side isn't always filled with action, we also have a large passive side that allows for a real police feel such as filling out paperwork, regular drills for situations such as judgement waivers and training days that are ran like like clockwork. (see what I did there?)

Underneath are the ranks we have in place for the CCA (Note this may change and grow larger following the playbase's increase.)

Sectorial Commander:[size=12pt] The Sectorial Commander is a big part of our roleplay as it is their job to oversee the whole of the Combine Civil Authority's doings such as arrests, leading assaults and reviewing applications. Our Sectorial Commander is a very trusted staff member in our community and will never abuse his position, for the time being we are not open to a SeC simply because we want to know if we can find someone loyal enough for it (after all it is a big position). But sometime in the future we will hope to allow a regular player to become our SeC.

GRID:[size=12pt] This GRID is the general engineer for our Combine Civil Authority. It is the GRID's job to make sure everything is fixed and well maintained, GRID's work is mainly in the nexus but under some circumstances it will be needed in the city. We can incorporate our GRID into roleplay in a massive number of ways, an example would be someone is trying to tamper with Combine tech and then GRID backtracks it and uncovers a whole web of different citizen's doings like illegal goods being redirected in to the city. We currently have no GRID officer at the moment but we do intent to appoint one from our community when it builds up, the roleplay is mainly passive for GRID but situations like the one above can be fabricated to fit him into some more of an active roleplay situation.

HELIX:[size=12pt] The HELIX unit for us is also just as important as the GRID, this is because we can incorporate them both into roleplay that can get the citizens involved too. We again do not have anyone for this position yet but we hope to appoint one from the community to give us a wider margin for roleplay opportunities. As i said in the beginning of this section ALL of our CCA members are monitored and we will not tolerate any abuse and or exploits of these positions.

    [size=14pt]Overwatch Transhuman Arm:
The Overwatch Transhuman Arm, or OTA for short are an elite group of combine soldiers that are brought in during a action filled situation. These individuals are rutheless, fearless and unstoppable and this is how we expect our community members to treat. It is rare we use the OTA but when we do you can be assured of an action packed event that involves all factions alike.

Civil Workers Service: Our civil workers Service are a group of loyalist individuals who try to play on both sides of the fence for a quieter life. This means that there is a lot of ways that the CWS can be incorporated into roleplay situations, for example a riot breaks out, and its left to the CWS to choose a side, stand with their fellow citizens, or join up with their oppressors in the hope life will get better. We offer In-Character applications for the CWS making it feel more realistic like they are going for a job interview and also offer weekly elections for our Civil Worker's Council. We keep another strict eye on the CWS members as we give them flags that can be easily abused.

Citizens: Citizens are a large part of our server and in our eyes are the most valued, this is because there is endless roleplay possibilities that you possess as a citizen, whether it trying to make an honest living, being a theif or conspiring against the combine. These are just 3 of the millions of things you can do as a citizen. We make it our duty to make sure that the citizens are constantly entertained with things like slave labouring, voting days and elections.

  2. I'll say again, wasn't this a SSTRP, what happened to that?

  3. Sorry buddy I didn't see the message. It was SSTRP a while ago yes,i don't remember exactly why it stopped though... It has a lot of faces this community XD Take it you was a fan of SSTRP?

Thread looks pretty good but bland at that.
I'd suggest spicing it up a bit but all and all nice job! I'll hop on later today.

  5. Damn right, from what I heard, SSTRP was doing well...wonder why they stopped it.

The post is one of the better one's where people actually have put effort in. But if you want some constructive criticism it looks like you have copied and pasted it (Metaphor) purely because I see allot of server's use the same old boring stuff, if it's not CCA its a derived version of the CWU, and if it's not CWU it's the masses of un-needed ranks. Purely no hate intended I like the thread, and will stop by some time. But seriously try to incorporate something new and unique about your server please :p.
Edit- what's up with the websites code ?

  12. That's better! I'm not really a person to jump on random roleplaying servers, but good luck with the community.

  13. Teegee

Teegee PM me for help, I'm always willing to lend a

The Sigma Eighteen some of you are talking about was ran by myself however the user Onanother is an old member whom I am helping out. He's new to starting a community himself so the responses are a boost I suppose you could say.

"...and only the Universal Union, that small minds that call the 'Combine', can carry us there." 1:53
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFU6hxFfJac

Maybe you should change it from CCA to Metropolice Force or Union Civil Authority seeing as how this points out that calling units/synths under the UU 'Combine' is an insult, not a title?

  17. If it is such an insult, why do they have "CMB" on some of their property?
    Proof: http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/File:CMB.svg

Civil Protection is good enough (and the actual thing), in my opinion.

  18. Are you seriously complaining about CPs being called Combine, what. It's not such a big deal, it's like how literally every server has a different name for their MPF faction.

It's their text/language plastered on a poster. If you look on the armor and around the neck of the Advisors in EP2 you will see the same text. I'm pretty sure it's just a coincidence.

You make it sound like a bigger deal then it needs to be. I simply stated it was a better idea to understand that being called a 'Combine' unit was slander, not an official title. I don't have any control of whether or not he plays by the book in unit terminology, it's his choice, but when I'm reviewing a server on my own accord to agree with others if it is a good server or not, I do have the choice to 'seriously complain' about it.

  20. Apologies if this got to some people, but please there is no use arguing about it all it does is cramp your fingers.
