Simulated Reality (LEMMiNO)

I sort of tabbed through so maybe I missed this discussion but why bother thinking about it beyond a cool thought experiment?
Like unless we find some reason to explore the concept for the purpose of some hard science, astrophysics or some shit, I don't have any reason to care if its all real, because I perceive it as real.

That's funny, I was watching the same video last night before you posted this. This was something that I had to push everything else aside and just sit down while listening to fully develop a thought around it. The thing that was the scariest about this is how real it could truly be. Not trying to create conspiracy, but like, how do we know it isn't all a simulation..?

 

Is it odd that I don't find it scary, instead that I find it cool? The thought of being in a simulation and maybe one day being self-aware of it just intrigues me.

 

It is not odd, I find it really cool as well but I think it is also something that we as humans cannot even fully wrap our heads around. The thought of an endless chain of realities is just mind-melting. On a more humorous note, I personally thought of Saints Row IV while listening to this video..

 

I thought of that vault in fallout 3 where you find your dad.
