It looks pretty cool. Maybe add some unique elements to it and it would probably be a bit more interesting for most people.

Very generic and 'stock'.

I don't know if that's what you were going for, but that's just how it comes across. Nothing wrong with that, just that if you want people to sit up and take notice it takes a bit more nowadays in my opinion, though that said sometimes people just want a simple, run-of-the-mill nothing-special hlrp server sometimes.

There is Zero custom content, it's all pre-made or other peoples content.
Please understand 'custom' means work that will be found here that you won't find elsewhere as it was 'made' for this community. On an additional note, the amount of content you have is way too much, and people won't spend hours downloading gigs and gigs of stuff to join.

This feels like someone's trying to sell me sand while i am living in the desert. This essentially is a good way of saying you have nothing unique and there's no actual difference between this server and everyone else.

We are well-acquainted with the factions of the HLRP universe. There is nothing of any value in explaining or re-telling us the factions, as these are the default factions. My opinion is that it'd be better if you did not list or explain them, as their explanations from what you've typed are wrong and very inaccurate and poorly worded/typed, and people may feel you do not understand or know anything about the HL universe based on the descriptions, thus may feel you have no understanding of what you're actually doing. It is noted that you did mention you've recently moved to HL2RP, so it's forgivable that you may not know a lot about it, but it's better to give no impression of something than try to pretend you know what you are talking about and to be wrong or misleading, as it can offend people or leave yourself open to attack and people will try to use that against you.

One other slightly-related thing is that i noticed you sell moderator and admin.



A little bit concerning, as i feel this will turn many people away from a community.
Donations should never be in the form of positions of responsibility. That'll be the absolute death of a community/server.

My recommendation with this thread its self is to Start from scratch, and research a little more based on other community threads (There's some decent ones), get a feel for what you may need to try to do and what you can change, etc.

Thank you very much for this. I'll revise the thread and see what I can do to make this more interesting. I've realized I left out the important things and put in the boring things. Not to mention I'm terrible at this.
Also, my apologies the donation ranks as I totally forgot changing those. Those were the default that came with addon and we've learned a long time ago not to sell admin or moderator.

 

Just don't give out script items for people who donate. That's what fucks shit up.

When you set up donator stuff, don't do stuff like, "Donate 5 euros and you'll get 2k token and v/V flags!", because usually when that happens, you get people who will abuse the crap out of it and make people hate your server.

 

Oh yeah. We don't do that. The ranks are for our only other server atm which would be Sandbox. Still working out what we should do for HL2RP.

 

Don't sell admin ranks on any CW server, ever.

 

Yes, I wasn't suggesting admin ranks of course. Probably something on the lines of tokens or maybe a vort whitelist. Or nothing at all.

 

Just give pet flags and maybe a few tokens. No whitelists though, trust me; I hate going on a hl2rp server, and seeing that you can donate for MPF/CCA/UCP or w/e it is called, and you get people with terrible grammar who have minimal roleplaying experience. The same goes for Vort too.
