HL2RP Suggest me an HL2RP Map

  1. Howdy.
    I've been playing half life role play for about 4 almost 5 years and know my way around the essence of it. My best friend and I are creating a server for the second time and would like suggestions as to what map we should use; what maps do you guys and others like? And don't answer with c17_industrial fuck that map. Thanks guys.
     
  2. This collection has many hl2rp maps on it so you can choose. Most people will say the same maps generally just because there aren't many quality ones to choose from. But if we're not talking about industrial I suggest using city 18, just because its nicely laid out. Everything is close for a smaller server, there is no excessive use of buildings everywhere, there is the large apartment building to hold everyone, and a nice slums imo.
     
  3. I always start out with City 45 despite buying a large slot server because, It's good for starters and I find it pointless to use a map such as i17 that's fucking massive when you only have like 15 people on.

    However, in the case scenario that my server pop grows and actually reaches the 45 slots then obviously I'd change it to something more conditioning for a playerbase
     
  4. Well 45 it is, that's what we used for the last server and I honestly loved it. I'd like to add another subthread: Suggest any weapon packs to use? We know M9k is buggy and the default weps are alright we just want some more variety. Thanks again guys.

    I'd recommend these as far as 'closest-to-canon' goes. I also heard that trying to make cw weps out of these can be buggy and broken process.

    This is your usual assortment of weapons(Rifles, Pistols, Shotguns, etc.)
    I never tried a TFA based weapon in Clockwork so I don't know how they'd handle but, I do know that Site-86 uses this pack so maybe they work just fine.

    This one is similar to M9K. A large selection of weapons including explosives, etc. All that good shit to keep your terrorist gang happy.

    There's a plugin that @cash wednesday made for this weapon pack where-as you don't have to press and hold e in order to holster instead, you can do the normal clockwork switch via scroll-bar without any additional work

Though I don't have an exact pack that I could suggest you should keep in mind that you should probably have a large assortment of both makeshift and well made melee weapons, since that's first base for many properly made servers to manage how many scripts rebels should be given at what time.
     
  8. Couldn't agree more. I'm all about rebels with crowbars and lead pipes and shanks rather than RPGs or SMGs and shit. My friend and I worked out all the current issues for our server, we really feel like it'll be great- got rid of Union divisions because they make no sense and encourage civilianRP through jobs and a furniture system and just generally added a lot of nice things.
