    Summary
Superflux Network (Henceforth referred to as SFN) is a community designed to make City Roleplay (Henceforth referred to as CityRP) what it's really supposed to be like. If you would like to connect, the server IP is located at the bottom of this thread.

"Okay, well there's a lot of different HL2RP servers, what makes yours so different?"
SFN prides itself on creating quality CityRP. The Metropolitan Police Force is dominant throughout the City, despite their insistence that they exist for the Citizen's benefit. Citizens can do more than aimlessly walk around and occasionally converse with other Citizens and CPs, the Civil Union for the Betterment of Earth (Nicknamed CUBE) provides many provisions that Citizens can purchase for entertainment and/or to make themselves look unique. Slums Roleplay is fun (assuming you're able to get there in the first place), despite mostly consisting of Passive Roleplay and Scavenging Roleplay - no free guns here!
When you spawn in, the first thing you'll notice is a Out-of-Character salesman, if you approach said salesman, you're greeted with the ability to obtain a HL2RP Guide book -as in- How to play HL2RP. This prevents newbies having to jump onto their browser and onto the (currently non-existent) forum in-order to look up a guide. It's a quick and efficient method of teaching people the art of Serious Roleplay - while also allowing them to carry the guide around in their inventory, making it easy to access if they forget something. Alternatively they can request an admin which both the salesman and the guide encourage.
    "...And what about the MPF?"
So far, not much has actually changed regarding the MPF. Similar to the above guide book - except IC - is the Metropolitian Police Force manual. All new recruits are greeted with a manual dispenser. This manual is essentially an entire forum thread in an IC book. This allows for efficient training in-terms of radio codes, since most players in-control of the higher ranks frequently need to check the forums as they OOCly forget some radio codes. As well as that, it also allows for the lower-ranked units to check up on the manual in-case they ICly (or OOCly) forget something - quite similar to the OOC guide book mentioned above.
Also while not benefiting the MPF, this means that if a unit gets captured and happens to have a manual on their person - their captor can steal it and read it in-order to gain IC information. This prevents players saying that the unit had an item on them when technically they didn't - as is the case with most (if not all) RP-only items.

"Okay, well this -is- CityRP and not Outlands. What did you do with regards to the Rebellion?"
The rebellion is minimal to non-existent. The MPF will -patrol- (and not -sweep-) the slums at regular intervals. The fact that they patrol - rather than sweep aids the MPF in the fact that the rebels will get no prior warning about MPF presence -as is the case with sweeps, as Dispatch unhelpfully announces it prior to-.
Not only do we have that approach to dealing with generic slum-dwellers, but we have a main resistance group named [REDACTED]. They're unsurprisingly kept secret. So secret in-fact that (at the time of posting this thread) not even the Combine know about them or their antics, nobody knows what they're up to except those in the group themselves. For those who have played the actual HL2 game and/or those who follow the lore pretty closely, you might draw some comparisons between the rebellion group and Lambda in HL2. There are indeed similarities, but it's not identical.

"Okay, cool. But these rebels have to have some form of gaining equipment. How do they get away with killing CP's so easily?"
They don't. Trust me, they don't. Whenever a CP is reported as missing and/or dead, depending on their rank, several actions will ensue.
If they happen to be a low-ranking CP and/or a CP who isn't worth a whole lot to the Union, then a Judgement Waiver is called and a crackdown is placed upon the entire Sector.
It seems suitable to mention here that any situation where Overwatch units are necessary follow a basic protocol that can be summed up in a single quote. "The combine can be slow to wake, but once they're up. You don't wanna get in their way."
Transhuman Arms are pulled from the Citadel and they arrive in Dropships, meanwhile a squadron of CP's are sent in to make sure the area around the CP's last known location is clear - and to retrieve the body if its still present. When the Transhuman Arms arrive, they will move into the slums for an entire slum's sweep, all citizens that are found are deported to the city and into the arms of the MPF, if they resist and/or have guns, they are shot on sight.
If they happen to be a high-ranking CP however, an Autonomous Waiver is placed on the District that the CP was killed in, so I wouldn't recommend sniping an EpU in the Plaza. The same protocol as with the Judgement Waiver applies, except when the OTA arrive, they kill all citizens, non-citizens, and anti-citizens alike.

"You seem to act like OTA are a bunch of edgelords..."
That's because in all honesty, they are. The purpose of OTA can be summed up in 3 simple steps.
    1. Enter
    2. Perform the objective without question and/or hesitation.
    3. Leave
They are not called in often, but when they are they get the job done.

"Okay, so you told me about everything the server does RP-wise that hardly any other servers do. But I bet you use stock plugins that everyone else uses!"
Wrong. SFN has a multitude of custom plugins developed by myself, ranging from a custom plugin for Backsword weapons to the aforementioned Guide Books. I've also modified RJ's Vortigaunt faction so that they can actually use their powers outside of RP scenarios - for example when fighting NPC's. It utilizes a custom SWEP I created for the purposes of the server.
The server also has Parakeet's Pill Pack installed, for RP purposes. It's rarely used - except for the fact that I made custom pills designed for the server's usage.

    Conclusion
Overall, I've talked about everything that I can think of that the server does differently from others. However it was really difficult for me -as the owner- to write up this thread without sounding biased (although as it -is- an advertisement, naturally I'll talk about the positive aspects of the server). All I can really do now is wait for the C16 community's opinion.

    Well, this looks promising.
I've been itching to find an RP community to play in, so maybe I'll drop by.
    Good luck with this.

I can't seem to join the server, whenever I join through the ip I get stuck on "Connecting to servers" before a "Connection failed after 4 retries."

Is it up yet or nah?

It appears you have posted the wrong ip in the thread, it should actually be:
    185.107.96.37:27015.

    Gametracker can't ping the server.
I think the IP is incorrect.
