The apostrophe glitch - help!

Discussion in 'Development' started by noel, Mar 29, 2016.

  1. Anyone got a fix for the apostrophes in people's (people'''''''s) descriptions? At first it was bareable, but now it's (it'''''s) becoming rather annoying.

    Cheers!

  2. On top of this, /charunban doesn't seem to work, and players have to rejoin to make a new character. Anyone know of any fixes?

  3. Please someone help! Are we perhaps using an outdated version of clockwork?

Stop triple posting please, also it might be a problem with SQLite, try using an external database as well as try updating to the latest version from Github. www.github.com/CloudSixteen/Clockwork

Are there any errors in the console at all? You could try reinstalling if NightAngel's suggestion doesn't help, although I've never seen this kind of issue before.

  6. My apologies. SQLite? I'm afraid i'm not familiar with what you mean? I'll try updating clockwork and see if that works, thanks for the help. (Also, ur plugins are dope. ty)

I don't think so, will try that if it doesn't. Thanks!

SQLite is a SQL management system for databases. It's basically a type of database structure that Clockwork uses to read and write data to, like bans, characters, players, etc. I guess this quotation problem is relative to SQLite. Maybe ask your hosting provider if the database provided is SQLite or some other system.

  8. Its with MySQL, i'll look further into this. Thanks!

  9. We've tried updating and the problem still persists. I'd really appreciate any help anyone is personally willing to offer to get this fixed, willing to pay at this point for a fix.

Have you tried reinstalling? Always fixed my issues with Clockwork.
If this still doesn't fix it, feel free to add me and I'll see what I can do to help.

  11. Will reinstalling do anything, in terms of losing characters etc on the server? We can't really consider it if so.

  12. This issue is caused by your SQL database, not clockwork. Solve it by migrating your database somewhere else, preferably off the same machine the server is running on. Make sure you update clockwork.cfg to match.

Reinstalling has no impact on characters. Also, it doesn't seem that your Clockwork is the issue due to the large amount of replies suggesting that its your database.
Try migrating your database elsewhere as suggested above (make sure you save a backup because if you lose your database the characters and everything else stored within the database will be lost alongside it)

  14. How do I go about moving it? I literally have no idea when it comes to SQL, we were having a lot of bother with it just setting it up. Sorry for being a bit hopeless when it comes to stuff like this. I really appreciate everyones help/advice!

  15. If anyone can add me on steam: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198043467783/ and provide assistance through there, i'm willing to pay for help. I don't know what SQL database we ended up using, and moreover I don't know how on earth i'd go about transferring the contents across to another. We were trying for a while to get it to work but clockwork kept giving us an error until I believe we resulted in setting it to a local host.

  16. Alright, so i've set an actual MySQL up. Now we're having issues transferring the characters and stuff from the database that was created before, getting a series of errors. If anyone knows a lot about MySQL, i'm offering money if you can fathom why it isn't letting me upload the .sql file to our new mysql from the automatic SQLite it was using before.

Send me the .sql file and I'll do it for free

edit: even better, send me the server.db

  18. Yo, can you add me on steam? Link is above. I'll send you the server database, the MySQL isn't fixed as well it says access denied to the mysql using password "Yes". Any help with that would be insanely valuable :)

Thats the .sql file if anyone wants to try it.

-Please don't provide public IPs of users, please.

  20. Right, so we've settled at remaking all our characters. Now, though, after we restarted the server, we cannot create nor load any characters despite them being in the MySQL tables still. Anyone know why that's happened and how to fix it? This is starting to really become an issue now.

EDIT: We're getting these errors in the web console:
