    Clockwork: Infection
    >inb4 severance

Infection is a Survival Roleplay Schematic set during the early aftermath of the worlds largest and most detrimental epidemics. Coded to suit the needs of the Roleplay, there is plenty to do, see and places to go in this world. The map is rp_silenthill, and the world of the Roleplay is set in Baltimore, Maryland, in the year of 2015.
To ensure the safety of players from NPC's, we have the Green Zone, a place for survivors to trade their junk for the things they need to survive. However, homes in the Red Zone fortified by families still stand inhabited. Infected walkers roam freely about the Red Zone, and are notably difficult to kill, even with the use of conventional weaponry. When it comes to fight or flight, you are much better off in flight.

    There are three main whitelists that will be explained later in this thread;
    • Survivor
    • GRID
    • Bandits

Each serve a different purpose to both story and immersion, and they're all pretty easy to get to grips with. GRID is your typical Military Unit sent in by Higher Government from a Quarantine Zone. Survivors are pretty self explanatory, as are Bandits, however the way Bandits work is tedious to come to terms with, because there has to be a balance between their needs and the needs of players.

Obviously, you're going to be fighting against NPC Zombies, and because our host is so good, you won't have to worry about latency or framerate issues when faced with a horde.
Roleplay will consist of how you survive the apocalypse. If you do actually survive, that is. Remember, though it won't obviously be made apparent by death, your character does have needs, and supplies are on a thin line between scarce and plentiful these days.
Scavenging will be something you'll find yourself doing frequently, and however much you bring back to wherever you stay, if you even have a place, will all depend on how you confront threats that present themselves. Things such as other survivors, rogue GRID Units, Bandits and of course, Infected, will often become a hindrance to your health in the Red Zone. But hey, you chose to stay out here. Use your wits, common sense and use CraftRP to cook up [hehehe] some interesting contextual RP against these threats, and you'll get out alive to see another day.

There are two established "Zones" in Baltimore, the Green and Red. If you haven't guessed already, or you have a very short memory and forgot what I mentioned a few paragraph's ago, the Red Zone is infested with carriers, and Bandits roam this area for supplies, as do other survivors. The Green Zone, however, is on the border of the Red and is protected by the GRID Unit. Water supplies here are pure, and food is rationed among residents of this Zone. However, you do not spawn in this Zone. It will take your character earning GRID's trust to get inside and earn yourself freedom, but do not expect to just earn a slot by doing the odd little job, once you enlist into the Green Zone, you will be required to prove you are efficient in both combat and/or some sort of useful profession.

    Still not convinced?

"Madness. That was how they described it. It was something in the water, they reckon. Some people think it was Toxoplasm, and drove people crazy, but I, I know the truth. Some think it was the act of God, to truly test the faith in humanity, but I, my friends and fellow survivors, know exactly what happened. They said to us it was under control, they had the whole situation figured out, but I am here to tell you, ladies and gentlemen, I know the truth.
This was not an accident. The reason for the populace of the world taking to eating each other and not those who roam the wild is not because of God striking us down, or because a meteor hit the earth. The reason for the nuclear weapons launching in Russia, Korea, America and Britain were not because of some mad disease evolving. It was because we were stubborn. It was because we were not careful. It was not radioactivity, it was not society, it was not the church. It was illness. An illness long forgotten and long since cured.
The Darkness that lies in all of us."

"Ladies and gentlemen. We did this to ourselves."

"All there's left to do now is go on. Never look back."
As a Survivor, you are immune to the disease by rare circumstances not yet defined, and your survival is inevitably going to be down to how you face the consequences of the epidemic. When and where you go looking for food, water, medicine, ammunition. Whom you place your trust in. Do you reside in the Red Zone or the Green? Are GRID worth trusting? What do you have to bring from the old world that could help out in this new dawn of flesh eating infestation of madmen?
How are you going to die?

"The only people we have to trust is ourselves."
Bandits, Looters, whatever name you want to brandish the tin with. They are usually armed, come prepared for anything, and somehow always slip under GRID's radar. They are unorganised, but their past experiences as thieves, mobsters and drug dealers alike give them a sixth sense for their surroundings, and enable them to be the best friends to have and the worst enemies to go up against. They tend to cease from looting player- I mean, owned homes still inhabited by other survivors, however they have no quarrels with killing anyone who goes in their favourite looting grounds, or from robbing a community base.

    "Seek and Eradicate."
Society can be rebuilt, within time. All things take time. Or so we think. Or so, we hope.
The GRID Unit were dispatched from a remote military location under heavy quarantine that is said to hold salvation for those who prove they are worthy of the new dawn of humanity. The epidemic and indeed what is deemed the apocalypse by some is not considered a detriment to the progress of humanity but in fact a chance to redeem ourselves. Hunger will be wiped out when civilisation is restored. Famine, pestilence, overborne by the carriers. GRID will sweep the nations, quarantine those who are immune, and build a better world.
    If they survive.
