CatalystX One, can't simply 'not care'

    Hello Again, C16.
My name is Devin and I have an issue.

When I'm learning my GMod Lua Code, such as maybe some DERMA or MySQL I wonder:
Wait... there is no guide on this, how do I make it?

Others just learn how to code GMod Lua without evening going on a website to learn, so what are some TIPS you have?

Eh, well whatever. Don't waste too much time on this I just need an answer, Thanks!

    - Devin :)

Well, first off, sort your BBCode out
    Code:

OT, I'd like to see this happen too, C16 Developers should definetely teach users code. Or at least post a guide.

  3. Nah fak your shit.
To be honest I don't see why developers should go around teaching people.
It's not our job or anything, if they really care for it they can ask for advice, but none of us is going to bother teaching someone from scratch.

    Hi Devin,

If you don't already know how to program in another language, then I recommend you don't start working with Lua yet. There's not many resources on it and unless you can already program, getting into it is difficult.

I suggest you read Programming in Lua.

Once you've got things under control, check out the wiki, read the Garry's Mod documentation, and then get rolling 8)

I think he meant all developers part of the C16 community, not the company.

We know (at least i do), but I couldn't slip up an opportunity to prove your Lead Developer status of Severance.

EDIT: Why can't I rate myself dumb

Try learning Lua itself before moving on to GLua. After that, try grasping some basic concepts like hooks and stuff, you'll use it all the time. Kurochi posted some good links, though I'd agree with code.Monkey on starting out with the book itself. The internet doesn't provide nearly as much help in learning Lua as the book does.
