[TLC] The Legendary Cactus - Serious Half-Life 2: Roleplay ~~Remains of TLC~~

Discussion in 'Communities' started by Travis, Sep 13, 2013.

  1. The Legendary Cactus Remains

Let me break this down for everyone into sections. Here they go:

    I. - Introduction of our community
II. - General Information of our community
III. - Our current contact information
    IV. - Current staff
    V. - The Voices

    I. Alright, so TLC started when myself (Legend) and a friend of mine (Cactus) got together and wanted to create a community. We started around a month or two ago, and have had difficulty gaining players. Previously, Cactus took the server, and decided to give it to ENG (Edgy Named Gaming) so we didn't have a server. I recently bought another, and it is now up, and operating. We're currently looking for players, who are loyal to communities, and are willing to play as much as they can. Our goal is to get the chance to become more than just the traditional roleplay. In a sense, we want to create something interesting for the players. Seeing as almost everything is almost taken, we've created something.. Different. We're also an administrative based community. We listen from the players, and with that our board meets, and decides what will be added, and what will not.

II. As I said above, we're looking for staff. You can find our website at: http://TheLegendaryCactus.tk/ - All the formats are on the site.

    Server IP: 199.116.113.43:27035

III. - Pure_pownage - This is my steam account name,
add me if you have any questions you don't wish to post here.
You can add me and speak with me at anytime.

IV. - Our staff is as follows:
    Director

    The Legendary One

    Board of Directors

    Fallen

    Super Administrator(s)

    N/A

    Administrator(s)

    Cpt. Walker
    Enderman

    Moderator(s)

    Kaxo
    Jace
    Jon Snuu

    V. The Voices:
Essentially the voices are similar to the G-man. In a prospective of the mind games. There are 3 voices:

The Voice of Chaos: Basically, this voice has control
over players minds. If things don't go his way, then he could easily kill off a large number of humans. He's the Dark Lord you could say. The whole city could basically go up in flames, if he well chose to do so. His presence will be noticed, by golf-sized hail balls, and a deep fog.

The Voice of Influence: This voice is similar to chaos, but,
in a sense. He helps the players obtain items that aren't just.. handed out. (No we don't just select random players to give items to. We give them trials to see how well they really are in suddenRP.)
His presence will be noticed by a mist of rain, and a light fog.

    and finally..

The Voice of Greed: This voice was banished many years ago from the voices home planet. He wanted everything to himself. (When) we introduce this voice, he will essentially be
worse than The Voice of Chaos. His amount of greed will surpass both voices. His presence will be noticed by a deep, deep fog.

When all 3 voices are combined, it will create:

The Voice of Power. We plan to use this voice to pretty much destroy the city, using the minds of players, and starting an uprising. After the uprising, we're gonna switch maps and make a new city. The voices will still linger about, but only when a major event is going to happen. Kind've like a notice.

That's really all. I hope that I see a lot of you all come play and stay. Thanks for reading.

Most people don't like Gman esqe Roleplay considering all it is is just a way for admins to powergame over other people.

In a sense, not much to actually say here, since you didn't include much to describe. Just that you're looking for staff and your "story"

If that's your main selling point then you're out of luck.

Also if you haven't realized it already, HL2RP players don't like originality.

  3. Garrus

    Garrus I like dragons, yargh.

Well, GMan RP is different for every server.. Or the same... I don't know.. I usually don't see the GMan.. Also, long as you keep your "Gmany" voices under control... Assuming that's what they are... I still don't understand that... Also I was confused as to what type of community this was until I saw "Gmanesque" RP. Some obligation to comment on it seeing as I did do a GMan of my own on several different servers.. Usually he stalked people. Apparently. People occasionally like to be stalked by a man in a suit. It's weird and creepy for them. Shakes crap up... Anyways... Yea... TLDR. People hate originality. Personally, I like it... Anyways.. You never explained your CCA/MPF ranking system. Along with who has power over which etc.

  4. I see these supernatural events & characters get out of hand a lot. Keep them under control and it might work out.

They didn't explain much, really. I found myself dis-interested in the thread, about the time the story ended.

People don't care about your current staff unless it might contain common people in the clockwork community, people that matter, probably someone like Cpt. Walker.

In a sense, it could use a nice touch-up, instead of having the main points being needing staff, and a GMan RP ran server, on mine, we actually have a fully established politics system, but meh.

It sounds like it could be off to a great start, then such a thing gets old, which is how original servers usually fall.

  6. Later on, I plan to create a political system myself. As for the MPF ranks, it's a longer process in which, instead of the traditional RCT:05-01:OfC-SeC crap. We took out the divisional ranking system until you complete your "rookie" term in the MPF. With our system we go RCT-05-04-03-02-01 after that you can join a division. From the divisional ranks you go back through, but lots of authority compared to the basic 05 ranking system. It maybe already used on servers, but I and some others liked the idea. That's our ranking system for now. If you're asked for promotion to OfC by your DvL, you have to take a written, AND physical exam. It sounds difficult, but adds more RP.

No one likes originality in HL2RP anymore.

  8. Well, that's how ours will be. I like originality and so do my players.

That's what they all say, honey bunch.

    Exactly,

I lived up to the originality bunch.

    Never again.

  11. Yolo. Took out the old ranking system. It's a pain in the ass to do, when you've got little MPF. Gonna just go back to traditional ranking for now.

Taking out the MPF Ranking system isn't hard.

  13. I meant using the 05-01 then Divisional 05-01 is a pain in the ass, when you don't have a large MPF force.

  14. ZeMysticalTaco

ZeMysticalTaco yo i'm a taco have some lunch Clockwork Customer

    It is easy.

With and Without a large MPF force.

Trust me I've been in the situation.

  15. Not when you've got your Divisional Leaders barking your ass for not having units.

Yes. It is, I have all of these problems, and all you ever will.
