Vampire Roleplay [WIP]

Bonjour,
My name is Connor Noble and for those of you that don't know, I'm an author. I currently have one complete novel named The Elder Scrolls; Shadowlynch and as I couldn't get it published I shot it on Wattpad if anyone wants to have a read.
I'm currently working on my second novel, a Vampire Novel. No, this will not be a "Edward sparkled beautifully, my ovaries bled for him." shit, this will be a "I watched as he tore apart the coven of humans, cowering away from the dominating sense of fear that overcame them whenever he came near. and I plan to use the events that unfold in this up and coming Roleplay Gamemode to help create the spine of the book's story. Anyways.

Vampire Roleplay

Lore;
Set in modern day 2013, New Orleans. Three Factions of Vampires. One Faction of Hunters. A City full of blood. More and more kindred are recruited into the ranks of Darkness by the day, by all three factions. All of them, fighting for control of the French Quarter. Yet, though contrary to superstition, these Vampires do not burn at the sight of a crucifix, nor do they at the scent of Garlic. A stake through the heart will temporarily weaken a Vampire, but a Shotgun to the face will take some time to heal up. Vampires cannot walk in the sun, though Elders quite prefer the rays of sunshine. Though Vampires can awaken during the hours of the day and roam freely throughout darker areas, it is recommended they find some place to hide themselves before the sun rises, else be turned to ash. Some vampire hideouts will have UV Panels installed, so that even the blaring light of the sun will not come through.

Vampires are naturally beautiful, pale of skin and bright of eyes. Their nails like glass and their hair seductively shaped. Vampires can also feed off of the life blood of Animals and pests, as some prefer to do, else their humanity slips away from them. However, those that do tend to be slightly weaker than those without the Dark Gifts. The Dark Gifts are powers that most Vampires come to have by nature. These can include Mind Reading and manipulation, such as the ability to enter ones' dreams or plague their mind with a specific thought. Domination and Compulsion, the ability to forcefully toy with the mind of a mortal, though Elders have a strong ability to compel younger newbloods, too. Each Vampire is also very fast, strong and most of all, intellectual. Vampires will almost always have a profound understanding of complex concepts, machinery and algorithms, making for very sophisticated and socially accepted Vampires under the guise of Human.

There are also Hunters in the City, whom by law have the ability to prowl at any time and take out Vampires. Each Hunter takes vervei, a poisonous substance to only a Vampire, and can therefore withstand the effects of mind compulsion and manipulation. They also use this as a weapon, as if it makes contact with Vampire skin, it will burn as if though it were acid. Hunters are members of the Law Enforcements Classified Division, and therefore have the means and manpower to call in very heavy weaponry onto their undead foes. They have an extremely wide array of weaponry at hand, and prove very efficient with pyromaniac like skill with fire. Indeed, this balances out the contrast between either side being Overpowered, because a Hunter may easily enough destroy an adept Vampire if in direct combat.

As of the Vampire factions I mentioned..

Augustine
Led by the mysterious Elder Vampire, Oliver Bowden, the Augustine are a sophisticated faction of Vampires seeking to uphold the anonymity of the Vampires in the City. All Vampires under this faction are Nightwalkers, else they are in the trusted circle of their leader. They hunt by night, and they have many rules that strictly apply to all vampires within the City.

• Never kill of your own kind.
• Never sire anyone without permission.
• Erase the memory of prey after feeding.
• Never consort with humans.

Breaking any of these rules will result in a trial, leading to death by the hands of an Elder or Master Vampire.

Nosferatu
A hideous faction of Vampires, they stalk the night and only the night. They hunt rats in the sewers and they lurk in the darkest shadows of the light. For this reason, they are nocturnal, and very sensitive to false light. However, despite this, they are also fast beyond the capability of even an Adept Vampire, and tend to prove much less prone to injury than any other Vampire race. They are lawless, but they also band together. They can use the Dark Gifts better than any other Vampire, and they usually use this to lure humans into their dens for feeding.

Dremor
Dremor Vampires are much different from the Augustine Kindred. They can all naturally walk in the sun, and need to feed much less often than an ordinary Vampire. However, their bodies can take much less pain from that of any other Vampire, and even Elder Dremor Vampires are said to be brittle. They're fast, and often quite strong, but they're weak when it comes to using Gifts. That being said, they are also unnaturally beautiful, and can use seduction to get what they want. They tend to follow the same rules as Augustine, but are not led by any particular character (Yet.)

Vampires also have their own type of Ranking System, as shown in examples above.
- Newblood; Feed copious amounts in order to gain natural Vampiric Strength, this is a very strong stage of power, almost comparable to an Adept.
- Sanguine; A Vampire just past his Newblood stage of existence, the Sanguine stage defines a Vampires character from thereon out, do they dissent into madness and starvation in order to maintain a sense of humanity? Or do they find a balance, a moderation? Or do they simply give into the beast inside of them and rip apart any human life to become strong?
- Adept; An Adept Vampire in any Race is said to be equally as strong as a Newblood, though a Newblood stage only lasts for the first few months. An Adept Stage can last for up to hundreds of years, and the Dark Gifts become more and more easier to use.
- Master; A Master Vampire has the ability to walk in the light, as their bodies and skin can resist the radiation as if it were any ordinary heat. Their eyes grow to a hazel colour, and at this point they are at least half a thousand years old if not older. They can easily pass for human, and they have increased resistance to hunger.

 

At first I read this thinking it was a schema,

I was like "FUCK YEAH!"

Then I read it was a book,

and I was like "Damn..."

But it'll make a good book. I may just have to read your first book.

 

... This will be a Schematic. Everything that happens in Roleplay will loosely make up to be the books story.

I don't know if I really trust you with a schema.

 

Hence why I thought it was a schema at first, but couldn't find any proof of that in the text besides "I'm currently working on my second novel, a Vampire Novel." Which led me to believe that this indeed was a WIP book.

But now he has editted original post so it is more clear.

Nonetheless, a cool idea.

Vampires would go about fighting the other two factions for dominance over the humans in The Quarter and Humans would simply go about their lives. Hunters would try and recruit Humans, but upon the realisation that there's Vampires in the City, maybe they'll go looking for them.
Your Character's Backstory can instantly know of their existence, btw. You don't have to be clueless.
