Tommy used to be relevant Moderator Clockwork Customer

i'm gonna play the devil's advocate

the thing that killed this forum was inconsistent moderation - first, there was not enough moderation (around when the RJ/Duck duo ended) and when there was too MUCH moderation (monkah/vonel)

you have to understand that regardless of what this forum's intentions are, its current focus group is a bunch of 13-23 year old people whose common interest in gmod serious roleplay. that particular group of people go from ridiculously serious to not giving a shit about anything at all - there's a HUGE range of personalities that go into this forum. that's what i loved about it so much around when i was a moderator; there were boards for being serious, there were boards for more laid back casual conversation/games, and there were boards for just straight shitposting.

    for example, casual discussion:

used for threads that can be discussed in a serious(ish) yet casual manner. shitty threads or threads that are just simply games don't go in there.

    fast threads:

fast moving threads that are really nothing more than pictures, games, shit like that. it's been defined specifically for 4 years in the stickied thread by kuro, myself, and lev exactly what kind of threads go in there.

    then, the meme machine:

literally just shitposts - but that's what it's there for. this is how it SHOULD be. this is how it should continue to be ran.

i'm a little scared by THIS screenshot you posted:
that all of the boards are going to go into full moderation mode where only the most serious of threads are allowed to exist. for example (biased):
this is a thread in FAST THREADS designed specifically to give people profile pictures. nothing more to it, that's it. however, that's the POINT of the subforum. silly little threads that have little to no purpose. here is a quote directly from the stickied post in fast threads, by me:
so unless we're going into a full moderation mode, the thread should've stayed; in casual discussion? no. in fast threads, where it was? yes.

so, to conclude, obviously this post seems biased - but it's just easier to give an example specifically from my thread because i haven't seen many other threads that have gotten a lot of traction in fast threads. keep the boards how they're supposed to be - serious shit in the more-serious subforums, small games/etc in the less-serious subforums.

tl;dr to quote someone from like 4 years ago, this is a forum for GMod serious roleplayers, treat it as such
