What Countries Have You Traveled To?

Discussion in 'Fast Threads' started by Arcade, May 11, 2015.

  1. For me, Republic of Ireland --I was born in Northern Ireland, but lived in the Republic for the majority of my childhood-- England, Scotland, Spain and Portugal.

My family has plans to travel to the United States, France, Germany and Turkey some time in the future. What about you guys? Where have you been?

I've gone to the U.K. , Spain, Brazil, Germany, France, Canada, Japan, South Korea & the U.S. where I was born and raised (But I was born and lived in Puerto Rico for ten years. Which is only a U.S. Territory.)

I can't remember for shit all I did was get drunk and almost drown in a pool. All I can remember is that from one city to the next the language would change inbetween English and Portuguese. Oh also people there are very nice if your a tourist who doesn't speak their language and someone actually translated for me.

  11. Yeah, the Portuguese people are really nice too.

I envy to you guys who live in the US

You literally don't need to fly out of the country to experience different emotions and cultures; almost every state seems like a different country to me, with its own traditions and places and things to see and visit.
In Russia, for example, here's nothing else truly exciting except Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi. In Russia, it doesn't matter whether you are on the western border with Poland or eastern border with Japan, you will still know it is Russia and people will still be shitty and the government will still be corrupt and the cities will be dirty and places of interests destroyed.

  17. Born in Jap.
    Been to NYC three times.
Iunno why, but I've always wanted to go somewhere in Australia, but then again they have fuckin' hell beasts that kill for sport. So I think I can pass that up.

Its not so much like that, and the country is too big to move from place to place to experience something definitively 'different.' Don't be jealous, we don't really have majorly disparate 'cultures' defined by location. Just some basic ideological differences and some language quips. The best place to see different cultures in a small area in the USA is New York City, in my experience, and other cities follow suit to a lesser degree. You have to go pretty far and into weird places of the USA to see legitimately identifiable alternate cultures.

I must say, the difference in San Francisco is insane. China Town and downtown are so different. I've been up north of California, and it is very very different than Bay Area or southern. I've been to New York, Philadelphia, and DC and each place was different.

As far as other countries, I've been to Canada and that's it. It was fucking cold.

  20. England and Northern Ireland feel the same to me.
