I think its great. And massive.

  2. while a map being massive is impressive technically, I'm not sure it's the best thing for RP unless you have a massive playerbase to fill it up with
i haven't actually looked at the map myself though

it's no wonder that it was made specifically for nebulous, the constant 80-90 population server. it's enormous and very good looking. nebulous is really the only server it'll actually work for. i dont know who makes it, but he better be getting paid big bucks for that kind of work.

I dont know, the map is set in Geneva in
Switzerland. But in 1984 the story takes place in Airstrip One (Great Britain)

I mean the political system in 1984 is not isolated to the Great Britain in the book.

it's based in Geneva, one of the story writers and I "co-worked" on making city 24 a political center for a hl2 story ages ago and he incorporated it at lemonpunch/nebulous

  10. I personally don't like it, but I can see why others do.

  11. Something that a lot of maps don't have is theme versatility. Maps like these are strictly HL2, which is fine (there shouldn't be an implied standard/limitation on mapmaking that is silly) but idk, I'd be much more enthusiastic if this particular map didn't have such large bearing to the UU. (Maybe use the capacious and large area for a Military RP)

Everything about it seems too grandiose for the setting of HL2. It's well-done, yes, but it doesn't exactly come off as a dystopian society. Maybe I just prefer maps that are darker like terminal6_v2.

The creator is not subtle about the nazi parallels. The slums is amazing.
Like all large maps you can make them feel smaller with good use of checkpoints. Even locking off the citizens to spawn and stay in the slums and only allowing them into the nice areas during events.
