HL2RP What should I make next?

I've been a relatively good coding run recently and i'm in the groove.

Anyone got some ideas on what I could make next?
Nothing like, M9K guns or more food items, something interesting, something that adds zing.

Just to list off what I have made made so far:

• Advanced Records (A system to replace the /viewdata system with something more advanced)
• Smarter Dispensers (A ration dispenser that interacts directly with my record plugin to decide what the citizen gets)
• Better Force Fields (Force Fields that act exactly like the ones from Half-Life 2 and look much more like them)

 

PIP camera feed from nearby cameras if they detect someone listed as an anti citizen, and/or an alert/waypoint on MPF hud. It'd make cameras actually useful.

 

I actually considered that when I was trying to make a 'scanning field' for basically the same thing, the field never worked and I don't know why I didn't try to make it.

 

I've always thought a PIP thing would be so fancy, like if you look at a camera for a few seconds, it would pop up a little futuristic PIP view from the camera, just for eye candy. The alerts from cameras would actually make them functional and useful too, I believe arbiter made a plugin to view them from a terminal, but who would sit there just watching cameras until something happens.

 

I think i'm going to need to do some research into manipulating NPC's before I can make this, anything else you think might be cool?

 

Remake hl2rp schema, make it less serious and more fun (while still being somewhat serious), write a lot of stuff to make people useful, revise the rules.
The full version of this concept took about 8 to 10 pages of small-font text and covered entirely everything from general rules and guidelines to what everyone can do.
It solved the boredom problem of HL2RP and added some single-player elements to it.
I believe that if you actually give it some time and thought, you might be able to make a concept with implementation that would be a self-maintained (requiring you only to install it), self-running (no admins required) and fun schema to play.
It requires a lot of coding skill and time though. As sadly as it sounds - no amount of plugins, no matter how cool they are, is going to fix the current HL2RP schema.

I think the HL2RP Schema is good at as it is. Could it use a remake to get it up to date with the times? Maybe, Yes.
Do I want to be the one to do that? Not really no. My goal here is to make plugins that add new and exciting aspects to the schema.
I am not here to remake a schema that is more than likely only of benefit to one person and one person alone.

 

The idea of a semi-serious HL2RP is fun and a good concept honestly, but I feel like it should be it's own gamemode/schema and I'm pretty sure the developers wouldn't want to do something like that.

 

I'm interested in semi-serious concepts, gamemodes where the rules are enforced through mechanics and not by mainly admins, since obviously a lot of people aren't satisfied with how most admins enforce them.

 

Adding onto this; I don't think that a direct feed would be as interesting as if you did a set of "snapshots" where it looks like an old, shitty camera effect. Almost just like an instance of pictures that were taken closely together.

And make an option to write it in HTML, as well as normal easy text. So you can make picture books and such. The current books are written in HTML, and have to be coded in yeah.

 

You mean the standard derma background? You could make a bunch of preset backgrounds that you can choose from that are used when the final book is viewed. Just overwrite the paint hook with whatever is chosen by the creator.

 

Ration factory. You can make "Gel" , using "Food creator" with 1 empty Gel and "Water", using "Water creator" with 1 empty Breen's soda. Then combine it in "Ration creator", and make ration.

 

I actually think a reworked notepad system would be nice, and it shall be done!
