Other What would YOU donate for?

I'm trying to think of donation perks to give people for donating to my server, and I'm coming up blank. I'm trying my best to avoid Pay-to-win situations, and not ruin RP for non-donators. I just wanna give donators some kind of incentives. What I've thought of so far, is a bird faction, just for passiveRP as a bird, and an icon next to their name. Can anyone think of something better?

 

add the plugin that gives them an icon like donator and honorable

While you're right, I'm not sure if people should 'sell' other people's work. I get it with TNB for example, since the models are made by the owner, but most other servers just use shit from the Workshop.

 

Here's my advice.
Do not advertise your donation.
The last thing you want is an annoyed player and people who has money to burn, thinking they could buy an advantage in roleplay.
Instead, just leave a little note on your forum so they can donate freely support the server without the need to advertising, "DONATE TODAY AND GET A PET FLAG WITH cUSTO MCOMBINE CLASS"

Give them a cold in-game noodle if they donate.

I don't plan on advertising it too much, only just a forum post, and I want to give them a little more than just a tag. I just want to get people to WANT to donate, and not ruin it for others.

 

Now now, that sort of intention will be the downfall of your community.

 

Understandable, I mean, I don't want people to be like forced to donate, I just want people to donate to help server upkeep and expansion, I don't mean to sound like a greedy douchebag when I say it.

 

Well... You really shouldn't own a server unless you're pretty sure that it can be maintained without donations, as those are always conditional and never guaranteed. Pretty sure that's been the downfall of many servers.

 

I do have the ability to maintain it, but it's just helpful.

 

Advertising the ability to donate through announcements and the like will only give the community a bad name. The best thing to do is to just add a 'DONATE' button on the navigation bar, or an informational thread and put the hyperlink in forum signatures. Try to keep well away from benefits that would otherwise give the player an in-game advantage. Maybe you could implement a gratitude sort of thing like a Wall of Thank You's? It's definitely an eggshell subject as it all depends on the dynamic of your community, what you're aiming to do in the future and the like. It also heavily depends on your game modes and stuff.
