[WIP] - City 17 (Build 210)

    Maybe keep the barriers but have them the option to be opened on button press.
    Just throwing ideas.

    You can't move static props, they are baked into the map in the compile process.
    However, we could make them dynamic props, but then you would be able to physgun them which could lead to endless frustrations and if you do remove them by toolgun then they will respawn every map restart.

    ....You do know basic Gmod keyvalues, right...?
    There's an extremely easy fix, just add a keyvalue "gmod_allowphysgun" to the prop_dynamic and set the value to "0". This prevents any modification though the Gmod Physgun.

    Sometimes I question if people even know how to map for Gmod.

    Clockwork works different than other gamemodes, that keyvalue does not work when running for example CW:HL2RP since it overrides most of these things for admins.
    Other than that, the lighting of the prop itself will be different if not ugly.

    If you are trying to make me call you a retard then you're doing a pretty good job here.

    I would like to see the Nexus moved further back if possible? The Plaza is just a little too small, you could base it off of the old City 17 map where there was a small road then the Nexus. Not trying to say that you should moved it back loads but just a bit so the Plaza seems a little more spacious.

    You can't compare I17 to this, lol. They're two different concepts and one is more based around eye candy.

    Yeah. They're in the same city but totally different sections with different atmospherics. You can't really compare them any further than the fact they're the same city.

    I enjoy a map that gives you things to look at. And make you want to go back and look again, that's what I feel would give it a realistic feel, wether or not that's the aim.

    I don't really appreciate maps that have no variety. Like, here's the plaza, slums and Nexus. Jut straight to the point with nothing eye catching.

    They're not really the same city, I17 is BETA 17, C17 is just, well, C17
     
  14. Okay, lets keep em suggestions coming. We have a tiny bit of % left so any suggestions on what we could do with it would be good, like more enterable buildings? New small area? Nothing massive ofc but we could do some more things.

    Beta 17 looked hardly anything like i17.

    Also, make the factories more interactive? That'd be nice :)

    There's also a working ration factory on the map, good for RP.
     
  20. I don't see how this question applies to this thread. Unless you have a suggestion to how it is dry and how we can improve but other than that,

    Why not ask Aspen since hes the one making/was making City One

    Or possibly make a thread so other mappers can see and possibly exchange ideas to make a new map.

    As for me, I don't think I will be making another RP map of the scale of City 17 again.
