[WIP] Hatustries C18 Modification

    Hi, I modified C18 for my server. It looks really, really pretty and this is where I'm going to post updates and take suggestions for it.

    I like the extra set of cells on the detainment. And the nexus additions. Those seem to be the most memorable and good looking! :)
     
  3. Looks nice, my only complaint is the administrators bridge doesn't fit the art style of Half Life 2. The combine typically augmented buildings and very rarely make something entirely out of their own resources. I suggest you make a 'pre-war' +15 style bridge and then add combine augmentations to the structure which is akin to what we've seen in the games valve has given us.

  5. I'm using C18 V2 (the one modified by Dave Brown) just so I could save the hassle of adding in similar things that he had. Otherwise, I've done everything by myself, including changing skybox textures so it's not bright and sunny in the city anymore. The rations terminal was taken off from C45 and it took a lot of work to plug it into the old terminal, but otherwise I'm making everything from scratch. I've also fixed a lot of problems that V2 had.

  6. I was probably going to add some minor touches to the bridge but the one that was already there was fully combine (as far as I could tell). The reason I made it the way I did was because it really did look like a vulnerability. That area would be prone to snipers or even potential gunfire, so I decided to enclose it, for safety purposes.

    Make the Detainment cell's not dark, I hated that alot.
     
  8. I've added several more lights in the detainment, and throughout the Nexus. No clue why the Nexus on every map is so dark anyway. The outside, sure, pollution, dark clouds, but the inside should be well lit.

  10. Not in V2, and the one on this map is extremely inefficient, never used, and really shitty. I'm going to make mine similar to the one on C17 industrial and make it easily accessible, unlike the default one.

    think about this realistically, who the fuck in hl2 would have a sniper? plus, a citizen really shouldnt be able to get anything outside of a pistol or maybe a smg, both of those cant really accurately hit a target at that distance.
     
  12. It's still a big safety hazard. Regardless of ifs and buts, candies and nuts, we all want the CA to have a Merry Christmas. Getting shot is besides the point, he can still get shot at.

    I love City 18, not so much as I did few years back. It was one of the maps I have earliest memories of the HL2:RP golden days on.

  16. Yeah, I've abused that a bunch of times. My version is going to be integrated into the wall so you'd have to manually drop the letter in, as opposed to slipping it down. This way, players can't just drop into it, and it would be pretty impossible to try falling into it.
