Would be nice to see some space roleplay...

Hey.
After playing a bit HL2 mod Titan XCIX: (http://www.moddb.com/mods/titan-xcix), i started to wonder... Since there are a lot of different roleplaying servers set up in different universes, HL2, Fallout, some postapocaliptic stuff, even WWII. Why not implement one of the visions about space travelling and stuff? Some roleplaying that would took place on some big spaceship, a dreadnought, or in some base in distant world. There would be pretty of ways to develop this idea further, altough I have no means to do it. Did anyone actually thought about something like that? I think something based on that Titan XCIX would pretty nicely fit with Clockwork schema. So, any thoughts about that? Would anyone be willing to start project like that? I belive it would bring something fresh and unique.

 

Define "unique" in this situation.

I'll ask this - When was the last time you had a chance to play that kind of futuristic roleplay in the space on gmod?

I don't know, but Monkah is working on Protopolis, which I have no clue whether or not it takes place in space or some shit.

But there's two HaloRP's.
And I believe two SSTRP's.

Try looking for those.

 

I couldn't and still can't find any of the mentioned above...
Altough I found Stargate RP with... 17.2 GB content pack...

 

Well I don't see that anywhere, altough I suspect it might be another different gamemode? Ill look check again tommorow.

If it makes a difference, I am overhauling my server to supply people with a Dead Space based environment of RP. Just gotta modify the addons I use and need to fit it's parameters, then trash the map for a better one.
Let me know if anyone's interested in trying it out, maybe helping with development. I'm only beginner in lua.

 

Sounds good man, I would help but Im no coder unfortunatly.

And about that Stargate server, surprisingly it's based on Clockwork with some edited schema, pretty nice actually, and several different maps are actually connected so there is no need to switch maps during rp session. And there is actually some action in which all players online can participate.

 

I've seen my good friend Nyan do this before with Phase Four, Spacebuild content and a bunch of custom shit
It didn't work, regardless, but it could be easily done.

I might have a bash at making one some day.
