    Half-Life 2 Roleplay: 74.91.119.61

We are looking for more administration, but you will not be chosen on an application or asking. The community Management team will review players that regulate our server to see if they are deemed experienced enough to join the administration team.

    Squadron Explanation
The Union Civil Authority is thrown into squadrons of four, which consists of [1] mechanical unit, [1] medical unit, [1] sociostability unit, and [1] squadron commander. Squadron commanders can be any of the three divisions. The idea behind the squadrons is much like that of how real life works, in the sense of a group of people - the entirety of the group is just that, a group. However, within the group, cliques are made - which is what our squadrons resemble. Units will train, sweep, and overall work with their squad whenever available; however, it is not required.

    Elite Protection Units
Elite Protection Units are basically the field command of the Combine Civil Authority. While the Divisional Leaders focus on training their divisions, Elite Patrol Units observe the overall experience, training, and intellect all units have. While Elite Patrol Units would typically not fully command units, they can do so if they wish - however, their main goal is to maintain sociostability and intellect, both in units and in citizens. They are typically seen in the training area or outside on a patrol with units - unlike the Divisional Leader, which would not normally leave the safety of the Nexus.

    Blackmarks
Blackmarks are used as ways to have a visual punishment upon a unit's uniform. It shows to higher command that the unit has had a past of errors of which should be taken into account when evaluating the unit.

One blackmark will result as mainly a warning - the unit is not punished except for a mental and verbal sense.

Two blackmarks will result in the unit unable to leave the Nexus - if a double-blackmarked unit exits, they will be amputated publicly - or a different form of punishment if the case calls for it. The double-blackmarked unit will have access to no lethals except for their stun baton.

Three blackmarks will result in an amputation. Units that are amputated are un-whitelisted if they are ground units, or demoted to Oh-Three if they are field or high command.

    Citizens

Civilian jobs are in play to help promote roleplay. Currently we have the garbage disposal team, apartment cleaners, APEX factory workers, and the Civil Worker's Union. Loyalist points can be gained quite rapidly for doing any of these jobs.

CWU: The Civil Workers' Union is basically what you normally see on other Half-Life 2 Roleplay servers. However, the backstory for the Civil Workers may or may not be different for other servers.

It started with the General Manager of the Civil Workers' Union, Jared F. Newman. He bought the property, as many citizens can do with any unused building, and began a store, rather than simply getting a street vending license. He began getting quick business, as his store was directly next to the train station, so many citizens would find their way walking into his store. Originally he would sell what he found on the streets, such as an extra flashlight, a suitcase, maybe a bandage he would create with some excess cloth, basic items. A citizen once walked in, and rather than asking for business, he asked if he could be employed there. Newman contemplated for a moment, and decided it would be best to have another worker. After all, he was often out scavenging. So he hired the citizen.

Citizens saw that the man had been hired, and quickly decided to ask if they could be employed as well. Newman decided it was for the best, and after all, they could help find items as well. As time went on, the Minister of Industry noticed the popularity of the store, and decided to help fund it himself. He began supplying them with items to sell, with a discounted price. Newman quickly added a small ranking system for his store - Him, the General Manager, then the managers, and then the workers. Paying the weekly fee for the building, his store slowly began to get more popular, with more workers, being supplied by the Minister of Industry.

APEX Factory: The APEX factory is ran by the medical units of the APEX division. They are, by default, the official "owners" of the factory. They are put in charge of watching over the workers. There is also managers, which is simply citizens, who also watch over workers - however, they are placed below the units on terms of ranking. Factory workers help create things for the Union, such as radios, uniforms, et cetera. Kept under close watch, the citizens are amputated if they are seen taking the items from the factory.

    General Information

Do you have anything completely custom to your server?
For the most part, no. 95% of what we have on our server can be found here on Cloud Sixteen.

However, we do have some of RJ's plugins, such as the Item Spawner Plus. We use the plugin alongside our custom crafting plugin, which is only on our server (Perhaps it is also on one other server, as our developer who created it has made his own community), however it is not open to the public.

    Are there restrictions?

I go by the saying "IC is IC". If what you are trying to do is ICly possible, then you may do it.

Growing wings and flying away - Not possible, not allowed.
Legitimately shitting your pants while walking - Possible, allowed, but frowned upon
Reproducing - Not possible, suppression field, not allowed.

There are exceptions to this rule, such as absolutely no FearRP as a malnourished citizen with a nourished, augmented unit pointing a lethal at you.

I'm looking for a very serious server, with no messing around.
This is definitely not the server for you, then. I'm not going to lie and say we are super srs. When roleplay is happening, you will not be messed with, and we have some excellent roleplayers (as well as some bad ones, but what community doesn't?), but there WILL be times when we are messing around (these times normally last up to half an hour at the absolute maximum, and they only happen when there are not many players on). Our server is one that is normally light-hearted, with people there to have fun and roleplay to their heart's content. We have players that will very seriously roleplay, almost all of my community so far do, but we all have our moments.

We actually have a STALKER roleplay server again, but at the moment it is locked. It is all set up and everything, and as soon as we feel we can support a second server, STALKER will be reopened.
(If that doesn't make sense to you, I use a VDS - so I pay no extra fee for the server.)

  7. Tommy's avatar frightens me so I'll avoid it. Good thread though, seems very organized and well thought out.
